United 93 Movie.

United 93 is directed by Paul Greengrass, who is no stranger to fact based-documentary type shot films. In 2002, Greengrass filmed Bloody Sunday which was a dramatisation of the Irish civil rights protest march and subsequent massacre by British troops on January 30, 1972. Bloody Sunday was one of the best reviewed films of the year, and ended up on many best Of lists, when the year was recapped.

United 93 is the first big screen movie version of September 11, 2001. The film focuses on the entire terrorist attack, however its main focus is flight 93 which was the last plane that the terrorists took over. This film shows what happened on that unforgettable day, and how one flight of incredibly brave people stood up for themselves in an attempt to save their lives. A very respectful and powerful film ensues a great viewing.

There has been so much controversy over this film, is it too soon? Is it trying to profit off a American tragedy? The answer is no, this is a deep emotional and respectful film, to those who died that day. The movie carries no political messages, and shows the peoples struggle for survival and control over a situation no one could have ever imagined. As far as people who may think it is too soon, just don't see it. I thought I could watch it fairly easily, being British, but it was the hardest thing, I have ever had to watch. Its so real and it will tear your emotions apart. This isn't just a film that America should see, its a film the world should see, because that day effected everyone. If you don't think you are ready don't see it, because it will be a lot more emotional than you think it could possibly be. As incredible as I thought it was, I will never watch it again.Movie 9/10.Respect to all who lost there lives that day.

Actually the first 'big screen' movie to discuss 9/11 was Michael Moore's Bowling for Columbine. CBC Newsworld has been running it about once a month for the past few months... I never tire of watching it.

Agree John but Bowling for Columbine, was not really a movie, more a documentary type, like 9/11, Fahrenheit 9/11 and the mockumentary 911 in Plane Site. This movie is of events that occurred on that fateful September day in 2001, where the 4 planes were hijacked and crashed. And its a date that changed many, and scarred many others. "United 93" is a gripping recollection of United Airlines Flight 93 the sole plane out of the 4 hijacked that did not reach its target.Nothing more nothing less, IMHO a very powerful movie, but like I said, I would never watch it again.

Ooops, I meant Farenheit 9/11, not Bowling... duh

Yes, agree as it's obviously a documentary and not a 'feature film'. Recently a group of international academics have banded together and are saying the attacks of 9/11 were at least in part orchestrated by the US government, to give them a means to move into Iraq and gain control of the oil fields there. Naturally, they have their naysayers, but it's pretty gutsy for many esteemed academics to put their careers on the line to make such a bold statement.
