SubC or SubC date on NATO? Pics?

Almost positive I have started a thread like this before specifically regarding the SubC on nato but can’t seem to find it. Would love to see some pics of the SubC no date or date on a military style NATO. Also. Any recommendations on premium NATO brands?

Cheers

You already have one as your avatar, why not sharing some photos of yours?

How about changing your topic to 'Divers on NATO'? Which includes the sea dwellers as well.

5 digit Subs look good on Natos. Ceramic Subs....leave the jewelry on the bracelet where it belongs.

That’s not a SubC....it’s a beautiful 14060 that I’m guessing he no longer owns.

The one in my avatar is a 14060M. Curious to see the newer proportions of the ceramic models on a NATO.

You’re correct. Gave that one to my father and hes in love with it and wears it 24/7. It was my very first sport Rolex

I’ve tried the nato on my SubC date, I just don’t like the look on the 6 digit models. Much prefer the nato on the 5 digit models.

Please explain. I am interested in understanding your comparison. Why do you view the 6 digit as jewelry, versus the 5 digit (which I assume you view as a solid tool watch).
Thanks in advance!

Aesthetics. The ceramic Subs were a departure from more than 50 years of a classic, purpose-built design that helped define the brand. The ceramics are beautiful watches, they just don’t look right to me on a $15 canvas strap.

The thick lugs don't lend themselves to wear on NATOs. They look ok, but not as good as the older ones.

This is a very fair opinion

This actually looks great. Different than the 5 digit for sure but I don’t think it necessarily looks out of place. The stigma behind the proportions of the ceramic models is entirely blown out of proportion (no pun intended) in my opinion. I used to feel the same way until I owned a ceramic model of my own

I tend to agree with the posts re: older subs looking better on NATO straps.

I missed that out, pls pardon my ignorance.

Personally i feel NATO suits the 5 digit better.
Ceramic bezel looks too prominant and visually makes NATO look tiny and out of proportioned (a bit)

absolutely right about it being blown out of proportion. It seems like some people just need something to complain about. Any WIS should be able to see the direct lineage of the 6 digit sub with the sub of 50 years ago.

Agree!

The old adage of the 6 digits aren’t tool watches anymore is so exhausting. Ask my Dad, who was a diver back in the 70’s & 80’s what honest watch would he buy for his dive and it certainly wouldn’t be a 4 or 5 digit Rolex!

They’ve always been jewellery of the highest order to the working man and woman. The idea of this great divide between the Sub generations is tiring.

Let’s just celebrate they’re all beautifully purposeful watches.
