I'm completely disheartened
After messing about waiting for another watch i let the 233 slip through my fingers, i should be wearing it just now but hesitated and lost out, so now it's back to the drawing board.
I tried on the 270 in the AD again and it felt great this time, no doubts in my mind that it fits nice enough, no doubts about the size and i now really want a 233, or a 270 if i could get one for a decent price, but there seems to be nothing in the UK just now, barely any 233s, let alone any for a decent price. The one thing the AD does have is a heavily discounted 140, brand new with all tags still on, and it's going for less than the MRSP on a 212, i can't believe the price it's sitting at, i keep thinking about buying it but it's just not a 233/270, i could buy it and sell it on, but i'm not really into that either, i guess i'm going to have to just be Panerailess for a few months and see what turns up, i thought this financial crisis would make it easier to buy top end watches, but i'm not getting much luck just now |

Argee- I saw your post about this on Paneristi. That 140 is a real stand out. But you're right... it's no 233 or 270 IMO. The brushed/polished 1950s case, Panerai's first in-house movement, the 8 day PR, the domed crystal, and the gorgeous, balanced dial are my favorite things about this watch. I bought my 233 at an AD at 5% below retail. Looking back, I would have paid retail as it was worth every penny, truly an awesome watch. I love it more and more every day. Keep looking! And you won't regret paying full boat after a little wrist time, believe me. A little fuel for your search...
