Questions about buying a 97200 braclet from rsc

My sub c clasp got really badly damaged to the point it's not worth fixing.so I phoned rsc London and they said a glidelock clasp is 1200 pounds .and said for an extra 300 pounds I can get the full braclet 1500 pounds here in London.anyway my question is the original clasp I had on my 2012 sub c is the old style sand blasted ,but the replacemt is polished as they discontinued the old style (So much better).this will make the watch non period correct as only the new subs from late 2015 onwards that have the new style non double outlined Rehaut engraving has the polished clasp.would this bother you guys that the watch will not be period correct anymore due to the clasp?im suprised rolex would not keep old clasps in stock.

Was thinking of buying used one on here with the sand blasted clasp as they come up for sale often, but people are selling used ones for more than Rolex sell new ones for

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest, but that’s probably not helpful since it sounds like it would bother you.

If I were bothered, a few hundred quid extra for the old-style clasp (if that’s what it costs) would be worth it.

Thing is used vs new .plus paying quite alot more for used one seems kind of crazy when i can get brand new for much cheaper.i was wondering about resale aslo having a non period correct clasp hoping it won't put potential buyers off?

Well that’s one reason I wouldn’t do it! That and I prefer the look of the new one. The only way it could be a problem would be if you were ever to sell it and even then I’d be surprised if it had much of a negative impact. Others might know more on that, mind.

I realise this is stating the obvious, but basically you have to work out which would bother you more: having a brand new but non OEM style clasp, or having a resold, more expensive OEM clasp.

That is the question my friend. Let's wait and see if anyone else has any insite
I don't want to take a hit when selling.thats the main reason I made this thread tbh to find out if having a non original clasp(still genuine rolex) will put off potential buyers

The difference in the finish of the clasp blade makes NO difference. The mirror polished newer style is nicer anyway, as that is the finish on the YG and WG Sub. As far as value retention, no difference, IMO

You don't have a COMEX or Red Sub; "period correct" is meaningless for a modern Ceramic Sub as long as the part is correct. (such as, no 93150's on ceramics)
