Upgrading to PM questions.....

I’ve decided to get a Smurf! However in order to justify it, I’ll unload either one or two pieces. Which one/ones would you choose to let go? I have the SD4k which I’ll always keep due to being discontinued. It’s also a great beater. The Daytona is an awesome watch but I find I’m rarely wear it. Letting the Blusey go is probably certain as I don’t think I’d wear it with the Smurf. The CHNR is an awesome price but I find it less comfortable due to the lack of glidelock. So I’ll probably either let the Daytona and/or blusey go or the blusey and CHNR go. What would you do?? Thanks!

The two tt. It only makes sense.

That sd4k is only going up in value along with the daytonac.

CHNR and TT sub to go. I’d keep the SD and Daytona.

Get rid of the two you wear least. Don't let pricing or perceived value hype influence your decision.

Please post pics once you get the smurf. That is my grail!

It depends what you mean by upgrading as in the real world only difference is the metal and price.

You answered it yourself. You don’t wear the Daytona, and the tt Sub needs to go

If it’s me I’d get rid of the bluesy. It would be redundant with the smurf

But taking from what you said, sounds like daytona, bluesy and CHNR need to go!

Wow ... big move as I like all of them.

If you’re looking for biggest bang for your buck, the Daytona would put a pretty serious dent toward the Smurf.

The two TT should go as you would probably always choose smurf over either of them. But it seems that you like gold colour, why not go yellow gold sub while you are at it? Then you have the SD4K if you want white metal, and the Daytona of course.

Maybe I’m bias because I want a white DaytonaC. I wouldn’t keep a watch I didn’t wear unless it was a Paul Newman locked away in a safety deposit box.

As someone in the market for a DaytonaC I am interested to know why you don’t wear it. Does it seem too dressy? I figure it would match most anything.

Very nice collection you have there! I'm sorry that this is not going to be of any help, but if these were mine, I think my least favorite would be the SD4K and I would sell it. I'd have a tough time selling the others, as those are all goals for my future collection. :)

From a standpoint that makes sense, I think I agree with you on selling the Bluesy and Daytona. The Smurf will obviously take place of the Bluesy and the Daytona will bring you some good revenue to help pay for the Smurf. Keep the CHNR so that you will still have a GMT, and a TT in your collection. Plus I think the TT CHNR is a beautiful model!

Move the Daytona and the Sea Dweller. That will leave you with 3 great watches. One full WG, one TT YG and one TT RG.

I would personally keep the Daytona and offload the CHNR and Bluesy. However, since you don't wear the Daytona, you could get a very favorable trade-in value towards the Smurf given the hype. Trading in the Daytona and Bluesy might make the most sense for you.

They all look very similar to my naked eye except for the daytona. That seems oddly out of place, in your collection.

As I see it I’d keep the Daytona and add the Smurf (which is a great watch BTW). Trade the TT and the sea dweller, I never understood keeping a watch around solely because it’s discontinued; it is a hideous watch on the wrist.

I would get rid of the Daytona and the Bluesy, given what you’ve said.

I'd trade the SeaDweller and the GMT.

Trade the Bluesy & Daytona. You should check the fit of your GMTIIC bracelet. I find my GMTIICs more comfortable than my SubCs, but admittedly less adjustable.

I'd unload the two TT. Might be easier to buy again in the future if you want it back
