I was waiting for this launch so eagerly, but I got very disappointed. Maybe it will grow over me by time

I think most people only have issues with the dials, esp the chrono and time only dials, with their uncanny resemblance to "undesirable" brands such as DW or MVNT etc.. ( aka mall watches ). This can be easily fixed in future releases. The case for one appears to be elaborate and well furnished the new movements are good imho. One thing to note, the case is not weld at the bottom and there is actually a gap. Not sure how robust these watches are. Also 30m water resistance is kind of low.
Overall, I think the over-reaction and venom directed at AP so far for this new line is both overblown and unwarranted. Let's wait to see the watches irl before making judgement folks Although with so much negativity, I wonder who is brave enough to have the first incoming in this forum.

I’ve been looking for an excuse to drop $28k on a MVMT. lmfao, what an epic failure

AP probably did not expect this type of reaction and they could have avoided it had they done more market testing and sought the opinion of people who were not under their influence/payroll. My speculation is that this new line is a product of Groupthink in Le Brassus of a board that was too busy thinking they were right than asking where they could be wrong. |

Underwhelming for me. The chrono is ok but not wow. I would stick to the royal oak line for now until they find a way to create a character to the new line.

The chrono is OK but should have been released in SS, in PM I think this will struggle. Dressy watches are not what AP are really about so they needed to make this price attractive to gather some hype, as PP did with their new Pilot 5522.

It’s a decent effort, the cases are very nice, movements are great. Hard to tell with the dials online. The time only don’t excite me, but the PC and Chrono are very well done.

I am not a huge AP fan to start with and this watch does less than nothing for me.

Just not exciting, at all. The case is quite nice but those dials are so underwhelming. I'm sure the finishing is exquisite but for that much money there are better options.

If they come out with a smaller sized (39mm) steel chrono, I would be in line for it.

This is an interesting video on the new Code 11.59 collection that warrants viewing in my opinion;

+1 I feel that this watch (1159) will look better in real life than in photo. It’s a new product line and for those who wants RO and ROO, AP still offers those. It’s a modern/contemporary AP. |

Definitely a quality watch with a lot of thought into the build and design. However, the looks and style is where the letdown is. I think we were all expecting AP to come out with something wildly different from anything else on the market. They have been known for their bold and cutting edge designs and for me, this was a letdown.
I wouldn't mind owning one of these, but at the right amount. At an entry price of around $25K, that's not it for me since there are a lot of other options. I'd rather buy a Rolex or an Offshore. |
