I finally own a superdome !!!

I just wanted to share with you my pleasure to have put a superdome on my vintage 5513 !
One year ago I vought a vintage rolex sub, which wasn t in a good shape :

It was equiped by a late 80's service plexi (wihch could be fitted on 1665 and Tudor sub) :

Then began my quest for the right plexi (ref tropic 19) and goodies .
After cleaning the watch, cleaned the bezel insert, to put a service plexi (ref tropic 19 too), to find the right goodies, the right riveted Rolex bracelet (sold at this time for my next watch ref 116520 ...), the watch seemed almost perfect for me (even if the dial is a 80's service one) :

ihere with a sister :

Here we can easily see the service plexi which isn't domed on the sides (ref tropic 19 service plexi) :

Since yesterday, I ve taken the time to pick up my superdomes(yes two in one shot !!!), and I ve taken the time to put it on my watch, and then, it s totally magical !!!
The dial is underlined by the shape of the plexi !
Reflects are wonderful, the light runs on the plexi !!
So, now let s talk the pictures of my vintage Rolex on its vintage tropic (the bracelet, not the plexi Lol!) :

On its service Oyster bracelet :

Some pictures :

I hope you will enjoy !!

Wonderful 5513 I really like the pics with the Tropic strap. You say on its vintage Tropic, did you buy the 5513 with the Tropic strap?

Hi Jason Spring! A great watch you´ve got there!
Very nice your work to restore its original vintage look.
I had and exactly identical #5513, including the riveted Oyster bracelet, which was presented to me by my parents in 1966, for my 18th birthday.
Unfortunately I lost that beloved watch during an armed robbery I suffered in 1977.
Though it was quickly replaced with a 1680 Sub date which I still own, I surely miss that watch!!
Hope you enjoy yours in good health, and thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Abel

No, this tropic was on a 60's broken Mortima watch.
And you are right, I love to wear it with this strap

Very nice one there! A Sub no date with a domed crystal is definitely on my list of Rolexes to own in the future! Such a classic...

awesome watch enjoy it.I like the rivet look but for me the 93150 feels better the rivet is more flimsy on my hand.Rivet and superdome is the best looking.

Outstanding Jason! That crystal really adds something, IMHO, and causes an already beautiful watch to possess a new dimension.

Great photography, too.
