Polite, patient and persevering Padi!!
Hi guys,
I think it's only fair for me to thank Padi personally in front of all you guys for the way he's been helping me with my computer challenged brain. He's been doing all this over skype and I have to admire his patience, perseverance and politeness as he ran me through several steps along the way. Of course, the PC was so contaminated with the TROJAN HORSES, that Padi too eventually couldn't do much. A technician came in and brought the PC back 36 hours later all cleaned up and ready to go...with the latest version of Anti-Norton in place. Cheers to all....and thanks once again, Padi. JJ

Yeah Peter, thanks a lot! My little plan backfired thanks to you! Now we're still not rid of him. Oh no, another 13,000 posts. I don't know if I can take that anymore!
But the tech guy did as per my instructions: he installed Anti-Norton You're soon out of a working PC again

JJ, I think that means...
" you must trade in one of your Rollie's soon, or the computer will break down" "Debug" I am sure translates to " Flip a Rolex"

Seriously, glad you are back up and running. Make sure you keep NAV up-to-date. Hopefully, he set it to auto-update. Cheers, O Great Luster After SS Daytonas!

Hey JJ with the Norton, make sure you do a one button checkup, a full system sweep, and a live update once every week. You can also program it to do a full system sweep at a certain time of the day on a day of your choice.
Did I miss anything guys? |

JJ, the "run time" error message means that there's an Internet Explorer setting that is incorrectly set. Go to the IE menu bar. Click on Tools. Go to Internet Options. Click on the Advanced tab. Go to the subheading "Browsing" and find the line that says "Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)". If it is unchecked, put a check in the box. Then click Apply and OK. That should resolve the problem. If it doesn't, take the computer back to the store where you bought it and go back to using a wired telephone.

anti-virus and JJ
JJ Norton is a very good anti-virus but, I have found that it does not stop all parasites or trojans and it must also be renewed each year or you loose it's ability to reject viruses.
What I have fund to work very well in conjuction with NAV is SpyBot search & Destroy 1.4 found at http://www.tucows.com/preview/310138 it's free and very, very good. I have found out that alot of the anti-viruses on the market have parasites built into them already so, as soon as you install and enable you are already going to get specialize screen popups that refuse to be stopped. By running both and you must physically run the spybot program and update it to stay current whereas Norton will update as long as your computer is online and set up to do so. |
