New Member looking at first Rolex

Hi everyone,
I joined the forum to learn as much as I could before pulling the trigger on my first Rolex. I've found a DJ 16013 online with a white "Buckley" dial which is what I have had my heart set on. (Love those dials!) Its a 9.7 million serial number (1987 production?). But the crystal has been replaced with a non-Rolex crystal and the band has a W clasp code which I think from all the other postings means a 1995 band. Does this really matter? I was more worried about the watch being "authentic" but after reading all these great posts from collectors I am wondering if it makes sense to hold out for all original?

Thank you!

Welcome. Do yourself a favor and don't buy a watch that has the issues listed. You typically will not be satisfied and when you move to sell or trade the watch you will learn a lesson the hard way. There are enough watches in the market that are original and complete. Good luck on your search.

Welcome! If you're not sure about whether the issues you've mentioned are important to you, then you probably should hold off until you know. That way you won't buy something you may find out you really don't want. Enjoy the hunt in the mean time!
