Replacement Sapphire Crystal

I have just had my watch repaired by somebody other than Rolex. This saved me time and was convenient. I've just got it back and the Sapphire crystal has been replaced by what seems like plastic. Furthermore the surface was convex before and now it is flat. Do you think it could have or should have been replaced by an identical Sapphire Crystal and therefore keeping it genuine for the make and model for the watch. My concern is that this is not the case.

I highly doubt that they switched material...sometimes its very hard to tell when they are new..
about the slope in the crystal, you have to realize that only watchmakers who are certified threw rolex can order genuine parts...so more likely than not the crystal is not a genuine rolex
part...

I'll agree with Steve..

If your crystal before was curved, it was an acrylic and not Sapphire. They simply replaced it with a flatter style and not a Rolex part.

Take it to Dealer and they can probably put an authentic crystal on it for a reasonable cost.
