Yes, it was meant to be out last year, people are still waiting.

That is my favorite PAM and one of my Grail watches. Unfortuanetly Panerai is likley to only release about 500 or so a year and the wait lists are already pretty lengthy. According to the BH Boutique, they are quoting about a 2-3 year wait. Add a $24K price tag and it makes the watch pretty hard to come across

Add in some problems with the movement and it will be an even longer wait

Yes I am on the list but am becoming disenchanted with Panerai. I have been 1st on the list for several watches and I cannot recall any actually showing up. I like them but am growing tired of the BS. I have purchased over 20 PAMs from AD this past year as well as mucho jewelry and still no 292,26, fer 24 etc. I may begin making the move to AP or even just calling it quits for watches in general. What good does it do to show all these prototypes and never produce the watch or just trickle them in at the boutique stores. Thank you but no thank you.

I understand your frustration, but seems a bit harsh to give up on the brand all in all just because of some iffy customer service, whereas most people seem very pleased with PAM.

I do however 100% condone making a move to AP All joking aside, I am one who appreciates good diversity in ones watch collection. SO I’d say not to give up on Panerai at all, but maybe pick up a few AP’s. It is such a terrific manufacturer and brand. Has a great history and very loyal following like that of the Paneristi community

I actually receive great service from my AD they just do not get the merchandise. It seems the boutiques get the majority of the goods period. I would not say I am giving up on Panerai it is just what I want now are the unobtainium ones. I simply have all the lesser ones I want. I understand the game from owning Ferraris but it seems Panerai does not cater to their better customers. True they sell all the low and mid range models but not so true with the upper range models. I was even considering a tourbilion but am rethinking. The 317 is a smoking watch but here we are a year later and i know of zero being produced. Everyone is on a list. What exactly does that mean? When there are 500 watches produced and 500 Ads the boutiques get 5, 10 20 ? where does that leave the others? I will be patient over the next year to see what happens but in the meantime will remain skeptical.

The 311 Sure looks sweet! I have come to the conclusion that I simply don't make enough money for this hobby! I knew I should have gone to law or medical school! My father is right AGAIN!

I have friends that are on the waiting list for an F430, and a California.
Pretty sure their waits are far longer than I have been waiting for my 26.
I am a bit disappointed that only certain models show up for delivery at the Boutiques only. What good is my loyalty to my local AD when the guys that buy from the Boutiques get the prime watches.
I have no interest in acquiring this one you've shown. Nice but not my Cuppa

John, I am with you - I think it is busy... Do you like any of the PAM Chrono's? What about Subs? Just curious...

The Ferrari game is simple the more cars you buy from a dealer the higher up the chain you move. Eventually you will get to spec a car. The Panerai game less simple due to the Boutiques and number of ADs. It is interesting at my AD they compile the list and send it to Panerai frequently. I am not sure what happens after that. How does my AD rank compared to the others? Who knows. I would not mind waiting for a watch if they could tell you it will be here eventually. I am just becoming bored with it all and am approaching the price range where there are some great watches.

I have the 212 and quite like it.

I have no Panerai Subs. Had a chance to get a PAM24, production number 1, but it didn't sing to me, so I left it.

They are just a bit too big for my liking.

Panerai is extending the number of Boutiques across the world and thus it will be harder for the "normal" AD to get any of the more desired pieces. From a corporate standpoint it makes perfect sense. From the viewpoint of someone who has a loyal affiliation with an AD it sucks.

I have had conversations with several AD's across the country who have become very frustrated with their inability to receive and thus sell any of the popular SE's. They get regular shipments, every month in fact, but too many 104's, 88's etc and too few 249's, 26's etc.

Alexandra Zoller, current head of Panerai NA, used to run the HK boutique so we know where her heart lies.

My best advice, make friends with your nearest Boutique. In Oklahoma that would be the Las Vegas boutique scheduled to open in April '09 at the Wynn.

Good luck.
