Bvlgari real or fake?
Hello Guys,
Today while i was heading to work parked my car i found a bvlgari watch laying in the snow so i picked it up and research it and found its a really expensive watch so im just curious how can you tell if this watch is fake/replica from the looks of it i research it and it looks like a "BVLGARI ASSIOMA" take a look at the pictures tell me what you think ? also the watch looks like it could be an older model it looks sorta worn out. At the very bottom it reads [S.Swiss] and [MADE S] if that helps. let me know if you need more pics. Thanks |

From the looks of it you hit a jackpot - the case is definitely real, and so is the rotor. The rest is just a 7750, so no reason for it to not be real. Only odd thing is - no serial number on caseback. Could be the way they did it a few years ago.

Valijoux 7750 Movement
Still sold, you can find em for $3500 new. I don't know how much of a resale they have though I thought they had serial #'s on the back though??? Also its hard to tell about the text on front.... Seems like its fading in one of the pics and it shouldnt be wearing that easily BUT that may just be the pic

I don't know anything about this brand of watch.
But the 7750 movement is very well known, throughout the watching fraternity, it is fitted to a large number of watches such as IWC. Recently Valijoux were taken over by ETA, which as we all know is part of the Swatch group. I bet that the owner will be grateful to get it back. It looks like it has been worn for quite a number of years.

No, it would be a good idea to try and find the owner...
File a report with the police and your office building as it sounds like you found it in the office parking lot. Keeping it is wrong.... If you take it in for service ever it will be taken from you. If you sell it and that person takes it in for service you could have charges of selling stolen property against you (even though you found it, if you dont try to find the owner its stolen). Seriously... It's not worth the bad karma for the little you will get from it... Do the right thing

I agree with trying to return it. How would you feel if you had lost your watch? Would you not want someone to do the right thing and return it? Place an ad in the newspaper; that you found a watch in a parking lot, name the parking lot, ask the owner to call you and identify the watch. If they call and say; "I lost my expensive Bvlgari", you know you found the owner, return it. Life's too short to not feel good about what you do and who you are. My motto is; "At the end of the day, I have to like who I see in the mirror."

This guy smells funny.... Besides the fact he sold it - why in the f*$@ would he come in here and ask about authenticity of a 'found' Bvlgari (which looked real, btw), not wait until all the opinions land, and then all of a sudden the watch is sold already? Douchebag alert!!!

As an aside,
The law, in florida anyway, that if you "find something" on the ground it is not yours to sell. Over the counter buyers are not even allowed by law to buy it. I believe you must turn it over to the police and, if no one claims it after 30 or 45 days, it becomes yours. Jeff |

Maybe you should pick another forum to be a member of. Even if you did sell it you are guilty of a crime and so is the person who bought it from you. Why don't you go find another place to play.

...question your ETHICS....
...the ethical and HONORABLE thing to have done would have been to turn it in to the Police station.
...if, after a certain amount of time, you would be able to claim it as yours if the rightful owner did not report it lost/stolen. Stan. |

Dude, not cool. If you can undo the sale - my opinion is that you should. Call the police and turn it in. If nobody claims the property - it may become rightfully yours. Check your States laws. Always better to do the right thing IMO.

You are now a Felon in the state of NY....
How do you feel about that? You have also exposed someone else to potential charges as well if they take the watch in for service or something like that. Do us all a favor and delete your account, people with ethics like yours are not needed here....

No, you are a criminal...
You are a low down thief. You took something which may have been very important to someone and sold it, in turn you turned the purchaser into a criminal as well as they are now wearing stolen property. Now pack your bags and go somewhere else NO ONE here want's to deal with a known thief. You are the one whose messed up.... You admitted right here in the forum that you committed a felony, that is reason enough to ban you....

What can I say? Your ethics or lack thereof just don't fit here. It's best for all involved that you leave now.

You know, dude, you're absolutely right. Don't ban this guy - he has some good points. As a matter of fact, he inspires me. The economy IS really f*&#ed up, so desperate times call for desperate measures. Some guy decided to wire me the money for a watch he bought - I am not sending him anything - what the hell is he going to do? It is MY money now. I went outside today and snatched a purse from some old lady - not like she can catch me. Only had $100 in there - but the economy is so f*&#ed up - that will help. Does that sound right? NO, IT DOESN'T. BVLGARI, dude, you're a doucebag. When things are bad, it does not give you the right to do unethical things, especially when they're illegal on top of everything. However, it is not our job to stop all scumbags (we can try, but it is futile), and remember: KARMA IS A (female dog).

He actually came, got an answer to his question (the legitimacy of the watch), and he sold it for a profit. I think we all tried to have him do the right thing and guide him in the right direction. Some folks you just can't rescue. He was led down the greed path and only thought of himself at the time.
This - truly - could have turned a lot better. We tried. I hope the rightful owner had insurance and gets full replacement value /or/ that the thief (that calls himself as the finder's keeper) gets caught for his actions. |

Judging by the background of the watch photos, it looks like the thief is a lowdown college student, hopefully, he will fail his classes. This is the dirtiest post I have ever read on the internet.

I can't believe it, talk about stomach turning stuff, what will some people do to make a quick buck?????
I know beginning of last year I found a Seiko watch, no markings, probably worth a couple hundred bucks, handed it in to the local police, turns out it had great sentimental value to the owner, they contacted me after picking up the watch offered me $50 for finding it, I couldn't even take the money.... the reason, This is what I would expect my community around me to do if I lost something of value... I'll rephrase that anything at all!!!!! I can't stop thinking about the original owner of the watch, I know how I'd feel if I lost one of my watches!!!! this is one gut wrenched Dave!
