Something smells funny here....

No, it's not you!

But this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=160314593875

Guy is in MI, wants calls on his phone with any questions. Phone is a Colorado number. 11 feedback with 85% positive.....last thing he sold was $5 and it didn't quite get to its destination.

Just sent him a Email.
I am in Metro Detroit as well, lets see if he is willing to meet at an AD for a sale...

That will answer any ?'s

Colorado # doesn't bother me but I tend to go for people with much more feedback and on higher end items.

The cell number discrepancy doesn't bother me much. You see this commonly with college students, where they will establish a given number living at home, everybody who needs it has it, and then when they go to college, they keep it.

The rest of it, though...

Something still does not set right with me on this. He just bought it last month supposedly. Why is it up for sale so soon? How come it has no reserve on it? So many questions, so little time.

If the seller did not ship a $5 item in the past, risking and then receiving negative feedback, why would he ship this (even if he does have it on hand)?

I bet he is some guy who was in the auto industry and just got the big ax....

As I said, he had NO problem meeting at an AD, giving a bill of sale with his serial #, ID and all....

Ill keep an eye on the auction BUT its really not something in my budget now, if it goes for a steal of a deal Id buy it and flip it.

Terry,

with great respect,

This happens daily in my shop. Guys trade int heir watches yearly, monthly and even weekly.

Often a guy comes in after buying a brand new Blancpain or Glasshutte Original from my store only to trade up within weeks or days even.

And they trade from brand to brand. It seems as if the quickest flippers are (in my store anyway)
1. collectors
2. car dealers
3. Attorneys

Buy it ..wear it...get tired of it...sell it or trade it. Amazes me every time.

Jeff

What he SAYS and what he DOES may not be the same. His feedback shows him to be unreliable.

What happened was...the listing was removed. I guess there are three of us here at least, that aren't surprised.

Your initial thoughts were correct...it smelled, and smelled for a reason. Be careful out there my friends.

No doubt! Glad that it got taken off. Funny, sometimes when I see a fake with a buy it now, I will bid on it just so that someone doesn't buy it outright. Then report it.
