15202

Before I was even a teen I was in Las Vegas walking through a hotel alone and I walked into a watch store. I was mesmerized by this one watch. The gentleman working there offered to take it out and show me, god knows why! I remember saying I’m just a kid I can’t buy it. He said “it’s ok, you can look at it”. Looking back he must of known he was making a future buyer 😂. That watch was a Patek Philippe 5712R. Since then I’ve kept a picture of that watch on my phone. I almost bought a 5711 in my mid 20’s but thought I don’t dress well enough to wear this thing. Well look at that market now! Impossible to get or you pay 2-3x msrp. So when the opportunity to pick up a AP15202, I couldn’t resist. After wearing both I’m not sure which I prefer but you’re lucky if you own either . And man is it difficult to load a picture. Everything is too big or too high quality. My ladies DJ and my 72 Red Mark IV & 69 Speedy

Congrats, did you get it with a sticker price or you had to pay a premium to get one?

Hi,

Do you mind sharing how did you manage to pay sticker price? Did you buy alot watches from them before you are given such an opportunity?

Thanks for sharing.

Congrats, I used to own one and only let it go to fund a 5711.

I had to pay a premium to get the 5711 but I made a lot of money on the 15202 which I bought below MSRP so in the end it worked out.

Tough call between the two honestly, hard to say which one is better, I do miss the 15202 a lot!

It is a tough call. Sounds like it worked out. Any plus or minuses since owning both.

Yes, a few differences.

Pluses
The 15202 clasp is miles ahead of the 5711
I found it more comfortable on my wrist
Catches the light much better
The movement fills the case better
It's nearly identical to the original 5402

Minuses
No quick set date, I wore it very little just to avoid setting the date
The crown feels like it's gonna come out every time you manipulate it
Gets noticed more often, ROs are very popular in general

In the end the minuses were more important to me and I let it go, especially the non quick set date was a big issue for me.

Like I said, tough call, if I could afford to I would own both!

Be sure to learn the quickest way to get the date change done, that helps

I love the watch, had mine 2 years

Also, you can go online and register for the 5 years warranty

Enjoy

Good to hear. Surprised it got noticed more. Feel like the Nautilus is the watch now. Especially with social media ...😐

But like hearing about it from someone with both. Ty

With so many versions of the Royal Oak out there maybe it's just better known.

10PM to 2AM and back, but I just dreaded doing it, more so with that crown.

If I took it out of the safe and had to advance the date many days to wear it I just put it back, most of the time I'm in a hurry.

On the other hand, once I was wearing it I wore it for many days straight as I enjoyed it a lot and did not want to do the date thing again. I had more watches at the time and it got the most wrist time in no small part because of the non quick set date.

Maybe I'm just lazy!
