Icon5 What is the meaning your Avitar picture?

Read a similar post on another forum and thought it was interesting.

My avatar is of my '79 10th Anniversary Pontiac Trans Am. It is the last year GM made a "big block" performance V8. Mine is one of 1700 made with a factory 4 spd.

Wanted one bad in high school but couldn't afford it. Found this one from a collector a few years back in Michigan. 40k original miles and MINT. My wife was perfectly happy when I said I was buying it instead of another Harley so it was an easy sell!

What's the story behind your's?

I like The Police.

Went to 4 shows this past year - Seattle, St. Louis, Louisville, and Columbus. Amazing to seem them - I never thought it would happen.

I like big clocks, skinny black ties and traveling through other dimensions, dimensions not only of sight and sound, but of mind. Did I mention big clocks?

I'm nuts about all pearls, but my favorites are Tahitians. I have a strand similar to the ones pictured in my avatar.

Dan, that's still one of my favorite avatars.

Mine - well, I'm a stay-at-hom-mom, and it's a little satirical jab at the cliche. Plus, I'm a pretty good cook!

No fancy story here.

Mine is the logo of English rock band Sisters of Mercy.
While they have few good songs, I do not consider myself a fan of the band and I chose it simply because I liked the way it looks.

It was drawn by Henry Gray in 1858 for the "Gray's Anatomy" textbook of relevant medical matters, and it was adopted as the band's logo in 1980. There are several variations in use.

Weird trivia: the arrows on the head on the logo, drawn by Dr. Gray, are the direction in which the flesh can most easily be peeled away during removal from the body.

I simply liked the way it looked, and I added the shadow for the 3D effect in Photoshop. It's been my avatar for years.

Mine, too. I actually have this same pic on a T-shirt ... but my wife won't let me wear it in public. I don't think anyone would take it in any way other than "Buckwheat on that guy's shirt", but you never know.

This is me and the wife the week before Christmas, 2007. We are just back from our honeymoon in Mexico in one of our favorite places on the east coast - the family mountain house in Lake Toxaway, NC.
