“Interesting” Rolex display case

AD in Corfu - admittedly slightly off the beaten track though in a very touristy location. That was it too, no other window displays round the corner with any watches, TT DJ’s or otherwise. Of course I wasn’t expecting to see any SS Pro references, but I can’t imagine a Rolex head honcho would think it’s anything other than a poor look.

On the other hand, maybe this is part of scarcity marketing 101 - we’re so exclusive, even we don’t have any watches!

Those displays are shipped directly from Rolex to the AD. It's not the decision of the AD themselves.
Pretty sad they have no watches to accompany it.

You know what Travis I didn’t even clock the weird elephant until I read your post. I was though referencing the lack of any watches in the window. I do quite like the elephant though.

I like the new dealer displays (well backdrops). I wouldn't mind having that display (well all three - as I believe it's a set). Very Safari looking for Spring and the Christmas ones were nice too with the train theme.

I realized that when I went back and re-read your initial post.

Is an elephant the right look for Rolex?

I don't think so.

They may be implying that it's easier to find an elephant in Corfu than a Rolex.
Interesting marketing strategy

I would move the watches if I saw an elephant about to trample them too..

LOL! This is what the new AD experience has come to be these days. A line of people all trying on the same watch...like a kissing booth at the county fair...lol! Sometimes the watch even goes in the back room and pretends it's not there.

Maybe you've been there right before closing? Many jewellery stores hide more expensive inventory (like Rolexes) in the safe for security reasons.

The Elephant has a good memory and even he cannot remember the last time a SS sports watch was in the display case !

Sorry you passed me as I was on the way out!
I was surprised to pick up at msrp a black dial daytona flanked by Hulk on left and old style GMT LN on right!
No discount though, sadly.

.....then I woke up, darn!

Maybe its a hint. Talk about the "elephant in the room" when there are no Rolexes to actually display!!

Rolex has done these animal displays for YEARS. The polar bear display is my favorite.
