What does PM mean

Exactly what it says in the title, there are too many abbreviations used on this forum and in everyday use. What’s wrong with using correct English?

Good afternoon,

PM is precious metal so gold (white, yellow or rose) or platinum. Don’t think there are any others. Never see a silver watch, why’s that?
