Hour hand of E2 216570 lacks clarity

In my opinion, in certain configurations, the hour-hand lacks clarity on the Explorer II 216570. It is too short. And the roundel is a problem. Use the design of the minute-hand. (By implication, the same hour-hand on other models suffers from the same problem.)

Anybody else have similar doubts?

I think I'll take that as a 'yes'!

No, I am with you. Personally I prefer the design of the 1655 hands, as they are super legible and stand out from the rest of the Rolex hands.
I really hope they change back to this design in the next rendition of this Modell.

I have always thought the same as well. I like the 1655 bezel better, too.

OP: to answer your question, I don't think it's too short per se, but with the phantom effect on the black really doesn't do it any favors.

I agree. Not a fan of the handset on the 216570. I also prefer the 1655 but I think the slimmer hands on the 16570 are also superior.

Nope. Never had an issue with it. I actually like the unique phantom hands of that reference with the black dial.

For sure. My first E2 was a 1655 bought in 1976. Seems to me that the new polar E2's hand-set would be much better for the new black dial, too.
