Funny looking No Date Sub
I have an offer to buy this No Date but am having trouble identifying it.
It has a chapter ring but cannot tell if it's gilt. Also the crown looks like it sticks out too much or the crown guards are too short. Can any experts offer their opinion? https://imgur.com/qOxUh8n https://imgur.com/ZfCFaHf https://imgur.com/WvTEQ2Q https://imgur.com/gJ8OSfA |

Looks like a polished 5512 gilt with replacement bezel insert. No expert though.
I would definitely try to get a professional opinion because these babies trade in $25-35k range and you don’t want to spend that kind of money without knowing exactly what you are getting. Good luck! |

I think it should have pointed crown guards with a chapter ring dial and most differently be gilt. You need a scan of between the lugs, case back and movement to verify.

Need a LOT better photos including serial and ref engravings
It is not a 5512 Pointed Crown Guard and it is not in anyway worth 20k. I would be mild;y surprised if it even has a Rolex Movement in it ; ) Case looks good in some places, fake in others - this may simply be the lousy photos. Case is 64 or later (not a Pointed Crown Guard) Dial looks refinished Hands are suspect Insert is aftermarket (likely bezel too) Crown is aftermarket In sum, many of the pieces here are fake and would need much better photos to authenticate which parts are not fake.

Seems like the consensus is a
-refinished dial -non genuine hands -Aftermarket bezel insert -Aftermarket crown -Questionable case There's pretty much nothing right about it. Thanks for everyone's help. |
