Shopping for Rolex in Portugal
I am currently in Coimbra, Portugal.
I did not look at the AD’s in the Lisbon area. Thought it would be a waste of time. I will be in Porto in a few days. There is an AD there. Is it even worth going in to search for a SS sport model? Any particular sales person to ask for? |

Your best chance is to shop for Rolex in your own country ..you are obviously looking for hard to gets .
Local ADs are unlikely to sell hard to gets to foreigners . |

If you have the time I don’t see the harm in stopping in and striking up a friendly conversation with the AD. You never know, even if the chances are slim.

You can always try, friendly people in that part of Europe. It helps ofc if you speak a bit of Portuguese.

I was in Madeira a couple of weeks ago (Portuguese island ) and the AD had a few interesting pieces, but no SS Sports. A few TT and two OP 41, blue face that I was tempted by but managed to hold on to my cash. They had no problem selling to me as a tourist. As an EU resident I wouldn't get the tax refund you might get if you are from the US, if you can find one. In general the staff are very friendly in Portuguese AD's.

Update:
On a walking tour today in Porto, stopped at the Inter Continental Hotel, they have a Rolex boutique in there, probably belongs to David Rosas Jewelers, they had no sport SS models, only some PM models, nothing exciting. Sales person told me no watches in the back, and long waitlists for the popular models, what a surprise! If there are long waitlists, then they are not selling to tourists. So that means locals are buying them? A little hard to believe with wages of Portuguese. So don’t waste your time here. David Rosas is building a new store near the train station but not open yet. |

If locals are not buying to use they are buying to flip. Don’t matter how much they make. What’s so hard to understand
