Rolex ss sports sadness
Feeling blue to have the listed price ready but there's literally no ss sports model available at any ad. the situation is very frustrating...

YM40/42 All Variations
YM 2 Milgaus Air King TT SD / TT daytona DSSD Seen in person all in the display case in the last 2 weeks. All the 'hot' models continue to not be there but there are alternatives. |

Excellent opportunity to look at and try on some beautiful and excellent watches from Tudor, Omega, JLC or perhaps some pre-owned pieces.

It depends on the model you are looking for. I doubt you are gong to see a Daytona-C in the case or a Hulk, Blue Sky-Dweller. If you are looking for a standard Submariner, DJ or really any other stand SS watch you can access them through the Grey Market for the AD cost plus tax. I think a lot of people get hung up on Grey market asking prices which, in my experience, is different than getting price. The Grey's hold tight on some watches but across the board they will discount somewhat. If you want a watch, go find it and get your best deal. Pay, insure for market value and enjoy your watch. Simple, then repeat.

Seiko is a fun/cheap way to pass the time. Trying out Doxa for the first time as well.
Don't focus on just Rolex, there are other things to enjoy. |

Thank you, I really like it, it might even be a keeper!
The only minor irritation is after Rolex the bezel is a bit "agricultural" that said its so much better than the Turdo Harrods I flipped to fund this, that hour hand YUK |

Listen. Plenty of fantastic deals to be had in 5 digit subs/explorers/ exp ii and sea dwellers. For my eye, far far nicer and more balanced than the 6 digit offerings that prioritized wrist presence, marking the line between tools and jewelry.

While i love the profile of 5 digits (i have one, bought in the preceding 'pleasant buying era'), the vintage watches have gone up quite a bit (double could I say). That's now terrible value for money, especially among people who are not blind and know what they are getting. Also, the old bracelets are crap Still, i'll probably get a 5 (or 4?) digit GMT in a nearish future. Unless the price continues creeping up. |

i have to be honest, when i was getting an interest in watches a few years ago, it was always omega that interested me, such clean looks, and really classy vintage models. But then i went down the rolex route, i do really like rolex, but it was the residuals that tipped it for me. |

They are creeping up, but better relative to the doubling now evident with the 6 digits. And sorry, the new bracelets (I have one) FEEL better, but are not actually stronger. Remember it’s the pins that hold them together. The light weight actually serves to keep the watch weight down as they were tools. Now the 6 digit references which are primarily jewelry, people want the heft as they associate that with value. Pure marketing gimmick. I am one of the few here that do everything and I mean everything with my Rolex, the lighter weight means my watch is not flopping around so much. My 16610 has 4 fine adjustments on it. I have never had a problem getting a stellar fit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Owning a Rolex isn't a right, its a privilege
I don't know who said that, but its kind of true you just have to qualify by coughing up more $$$$ or be extremely patient (like years).
