Would this work?
If I got a V serial GMT-II Pepsi or Coke, could I get a non-ceramic black bezel from an earlier GMT-II? The point of this would be to avoid the larger numbers, the maxi dial, and the "bling".

Sorry, I do not know what a V is.
If it is a non ceramic, then all bezels are interchangeable. If it is a ceramic, it has a different structure and it is not possible. GMT I & II are similar

Isn't V the new serial letter for this year?

Yes, I believe the V serial number is for 2008. Also it's my understanding that all the bezel inserts for GMT's (16710) will fit!!!

The 16710 (non-ceramic) GMT production stopped at M serial.

The ceramic bezel/insert is a whole nuther animal. Won't work on the 16710.
All three colored inserts for the 16710 are interchangeable. The important point is to make sure the insert is for a sapphire crystal. Inserts for acryllic have a different I.D./O.D. |
