Update of 16613BLU (Blusey)

Hi all,

I am thinking of purchasing a 16613BLU (Blusey), is it wise to do this now? do you think Rolex will launch a updated version of this model at Basel this year? the TT is the modell in line right to get the new Cerachrom bezel, updated lock and supercase, right? but do you think Rolex will launch the blue model or maybe just go with the black/gold version?

Your input please!

/Masterkiller!

Really no one here will know, only those at Rolex do and they will release the info soon, Basel is not far away then we will all know for sure. If you really like the current version it would be worth buying.

Bluesy vs GMT

I have a current bluesy and the new gmt imho the bluesy is far nicer but the gmt clasp is a masterpiece ,I think i would wait till you see what Basel brings and go from there just my opinion

The new blue Sub will most probably be revealed at Basel this spring. MSRP will be higher than the current Sub (without a doubt) and discounts not as high as the current blue Sub imho. Also the watch will not be available until later on this year if it gets revealed at Basel this spring.

The blue 16613 is stunning & I particularly like the clasp, haven't had it fail & the watch fall in my dinner yet

There's times when Basel hangs over us like a Sword of Damocles, it seems like any potential purchase after October is met with at least one "wait & see what Basel brings next year" response, life's for living you should get what you want & enjoy it now.

I would wait as well, since the shade of the new TT blue dial may (or may not) be different than the smurf blue with the WG version.

The most important thing in any watch is the movement and not things like a case ever so slightly bigger.Ceramic bezels etc are just purely cosmetic things, sure we might see the in-house hairspring, but eventually they will be in all modern day watches. So its down to you, get a blue sub now. Or wait for Basel then a further 9 months for them to arrive at ADs if there is a new blue TT submariner. But one thing is clear you will be paying a lot more for just a few cosmetic changes.
