Check Your Sofa Cushions

Usually, one finds some change or a remote.

This lady found a fortune.

Great story. So 92 year old father puts her likely in her mid 60s. Interesting she is using the financial windfall on a "boob job". Hmmmm

That's what I was thinking. How much did Bob 'offer' her for the watch? Seems like she would have done much better had she pursued other avenues. Just guessing though.

Based on what I heard, they are going to help her auction it.

"One of our vintage Rolex experts hopped on a plane to visit our new Canadian client."

So Bob's takes 10~20%, the auction house 17%; should leave her around $158k. Gonna be a small house and she may have to settle for B-cups

So for 4 years owning the sofa, she never removed the cushions and clean the sofa for once??? Especially it’s from thrift store? I don’t believe this story

It has a serial number. Can't that be traced to a store and possibly an owner? If I owned a Paul Newman and lost it I would certainly have filed a police report. So what happens to the new buyer of the watch from Bob's when it gets sent for service and the serial number is flagged? Is the new buyer hosed?

Let's say Bob's did all possible checks and the serial number is clean. What happens if the original owner hears about this story and then files a police report with documentation that the watch belongs to them after Bob's has already sold it? Great find. But there is possible peril for whoever buys it. Unless Bob's offers some sort of guarantee.

I’m with you on this train of thought, but I’m guessing the fact it was in a couch cushion this long, I’m doubtful the original owner has paperwork or anything with its serial number.

I’m also doubtful it will be sent back to RSC for service- ever.
