I first became fascinated with Rolex while sitting at a 100-300NL poker table at bellagio in vegas. Seat 3 asked seat 8 across the table about his sub. The watch was passed around the table amongst those who became interested in watch talk, I didn't know anything so kept focused on what i knew best which was cards and kept my mouth shut. It was a great night for me as a result of the watch talk, guys kept ordering drinks which loosen up the pockets and well lets just say i was handsomely rewarded for not knowing anything about Rolex :)
9 years later too long this August, I bought my first Rolex at an AD. While its not the Sub i've been dreaming of for so long, it's still a real work of art and it triggers a genuine smile as an everyday. Lurk no more. Happy to be here and to learn more from all you!! -Roy Last edited by Tools; 2 October 2019 at 01:04 AM.. Reason: clean-up after merge |

Congrats!
If you play 300NL, then almost any SS rolex is under 50bb for you, which means it's less than your daily variance:)) Surprised it took you so long to pull the trigger, i might assume it must be due to ridiculous waitlist time!:)) Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk |

Welcome. Great looking YM! Don't be surprised if you already start looking for your next. Especially if you're lingering around here.

Congratulations! The YM (albeit the rhodium dial) was my first as well. I think you picked a good one. Easily elegant and casual, more rare to see in the wild than a Sub, and out of my whole collection, this is the most comfortable on the wrist.
Welcome to TRF and wear it in great health! |

Poker
Yes he was probably playing 1 3 with a 110/300 min/max. Although if it was 100/300 he probably wouldn’t sit at that table with less than 25k as a buy in and a Rolex should easily be within his grasp. There is a biggg difference between 1/3 and 100/300. At 100/300, with a couple of bullets, someone would need 100k probably when they sat down to play

I’m not passing a watch around a 1/3 table. 100/300, sure. Those games are wildly different. 100k is 300 big blinds, that’s a massive stack. You could sit in that game with 25-30 no problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
