Milgauss Crystal Replacement
A friend of mine has a black dial Milgauss with the green sapphire crystal. Unfortunately the watch was dropped on a tile floor and the crystal shattered. He's reached out to a couple of independent watchmakers and they have stated that a replacement is almost impossible to source, especially with the recent discovery of parts accounts being stripped from the independents.
If he sends the watch directly to the RSC will they definitely replace it with a green sapphire crystal? I've heard that there is no guarantee. Have any Milgauss owners been through this?

Thankfully I've never been through that predicament, tile floors are a b#tch. If its originally a GV then yes, RSC will only replace it with the exact replacement, no worries.

Considering what happened as well as sourcing, I would send to RSC. Not only will this ensure that you’ll get the GV sapphire but that it’ll be inspected for shards, repaired and cleaned. I wouldn’t at all take any other route for an accident like this. It isn’t ideal but it is what it is.

Also, the chances of the glass being changed without a service are slim to none. Also also, the green glass isn't cheap. It's £452 so will be close to $556. |
