Misaligned Crown on Dial - Yacht Master 16622
Hey guys, I recently picked up a Rolex YM 16622 Y serial from a very reputable seller. I am in love with the watch. Sadly it doesn't come with any papers but I did get it Authenticated and it checks out.
I even got a bezel click spring replaced by RSC for 3 bucks lol and I got a pouch and cloth too haha. One thing which bothers me is this very slight misalignment between the crown on dial and the hour marker. Was wondering if this happened to you guys with your 5 digit models? |

It is so minor...but I can see how it might bother you now that you have noticed it. None of my watches appear to be off.

Throw away all your high magnification and start enjoying and wearing your watch in good health, now that far more important than any fraction of a millimetre so called misalignment. As for the papers which in the real world would be nothing more now than a outdated bit of paper. And with today's technology these so called papers are far easier to fake than the watch and dont prove authenticity of any watch.

Happens with all models including the 6 digits.
It's a little play required to fit dial/ movement in the case. Don't worry about it (Nice watch )

I hope you are joking.
One thing in this hobby that has baffled me for years, is how people will take absolute comfort in "box and papers". Do people really think that the counterfeiters of the world have continued to get better at faking an entire mechanical watch, but that they can't figure it how to fake a plastic warranty card?? Box and papers mean nothing....real is real and fake is fake. Know what you are buying.

From what I’ve noticed, this is a common occurrence.

Appreciate this post, my Sub date has the same and it’s honestly bothered me too. Not sure why but this makes me feel a little better about it.

Enjoy the watch in its entirety and don’t stress about the small details. Doesn’t detract from anything, and it looks awesome!

My eyesight is so bad, I don't know if my Sub dial states "Rolex" or "Folex".

I have the same serial starting with Y. I think mine is aligned. I’m sure an AD will look at it if it bothers you that much.

It is surely authentic. The fakers would never dare make such a mistake. Enjoy.

I find it interesting that rolex changes the dial regularly. I've seen different variations of the YM. Some y series have the same font type as mine and some of it is stretched out. Also the Swiss made is different too :) |

Perfection is something that we will always strive to achieve but it will regrettably always be just out of reach.

Precisely! I’m not too versed on this, but don’t they stamp the writing on the dial and apply the indices by hand? If so, then that makes every dial unique as different people on different days apply the hour markers.

The problem now is that because your aware of the misalignment you will ALWAYS try to look for it everytime you look at the watch.
Trust me I know EXACTLY how you are feeling - i'm a bit OCD like that. For you to ever enjoy your watch again 100% just take it to RSC for a dial replacement. They may even do this for free due to being a manufacture fault/QC issue even though its out of warranty. |
