Meeting with the tudorman8276

Today Stan and I had an outstanding little meeting.

He came over to look at my spiders and other animals as well as my old pocket watch. He brought his tools and we even switched the bracelet of our watches, just for JJ!

I saw one of those “lemons” opening a watch case and I also had a look deep into my pocket watch.

Stan and I spent some time in my spider room with snakes, geckos, frogs, black widows and hermit crabs. He wanted to hold a tarantula! What a brave man! Our last meeting was without pictures; but today we have a few to show:

Our two watches

We had a fantastic time, talking watches and got a lot done towards our Kentucky TRF-GTG which we will have May 14.....but that will be a different thread!

...well....I simply, do NOT...

...know where/how to start!

...just a HUGE THANK YOU, Fred, for such a nice time with you, the critters, and Helen.

...at first, when Fred talked about having one of the TORANTILLAS walk on me, I had mixed feelings....especially when I pointed at one of the others. He was QUIK to say that I did NOT want that one, because she was PARTICULARLY AGGRESSIVE.

...that's when the TERROR set in

...Fred said something like, don't worry, they are only mad because we are separating them from their dinner-a nice cricket. That was about the time Fred plopped one on my hand!

...talk about mixed feelings!

...in all sincerety, the critters were GREAT and the old gal that sat on my hand and started walking up my arm, well, she was having a ball also....I THINK.

...I WILL be back for a follow-up visit in the near future. Also, it was good to see that the one I caught and gave Fred was doing so well.

...seems, that it was feeding time for ALL Fred's critters, from the poisonous frogs, to the Pythons, the BIG HAIRY ones (like JJ's arm), and the Black Widows. ALL were gorging themselves on crickets. It is a bit unnerving when a spider that size is in/on your hand, with fangs, a 1/4" long!!

...I enjoyed 3 great cups of coffee, and will most likely be up all night with that problem...

...almost forgot the company of 2 of the nicest Boxer dogs I have seen. They IMMEDIATELY took to me and started giving me kisses!

I look forward to our next time, Fred!

Stan.

...I wanted to try it. I only keep the case backs on MY watches "SNUG", and wanted to see how it worked.

...it was GREAT!

...NO worries about scratching the case backs or buggering-up the teeth on the case back.

...I just mess with the little things every now and then-do some minor work to my personal watches.

...Fred has a pocket watch that needs work, and, I thought maybe I could fix it for him, but he needs a stem for it. His Crown had become loose (pulls out), and I thought I could re-set it and tighten the screw, like on the vintage manual wind Rollies. His stem is broken.

In a world where everyone focuses on our "differences", it is great to be part of a group that embraces each other, in spite of our "differences". Thanks for the pics, guys! It reminds me of why I spend so much time here ... and makes me glad I do.

Looks like a great GTG. Amazed about the lemon, I would never have believed it. As for the spider, you wouldn't have seen me for dust, and if my beloved was there you wouldn't have seen her at all Nice going Stan, maybe you need a Rootbeer on to match the beautiful colours! She was really nice!

Fred you have 2 boxers. They are my favorite breed and have had two, but not together, which is why my arms are still the right length

Glad you had a good time!

Awesome pictures Stan. Now I have seen the great Stan in action, life will never be the same. Especially knowing that I have to get up at 5:00 for a legislative session tomorrow over State budgeting issues. I still have to work to support Stan's lazy butt in retirement. He is thankful that I make executive pay to support his social security checks. I can only hope there is some young punk making all kinds of money to write my social security check down the road.

Enjoy your getting up at 10:00 AM tomorrow Stan.

Your Pal,

Terry Newton
