Need Some Watch Ideas for Price Range

Hey guys, looking to get a watch for a gift coming up. I have a few guide rails in this purchase, but pretty open to a multitude of things. Want to keep it within:

Preferably stay in the $2.5-3.5k realm
A birth year watch of 1991
Sport model
As close to original as possible

Was thinking maybe a Speedy? But would love to pick the forum's brain

You won’t find any sport models at that price point. Keep saving and hunting for what you really want and the day will come when your funds match the watch you want.

Might be able to find a Speedmaster Professional in that range....

Check out Omega seamasters as well. You might be able to source a 1991 Rolex Turnograph but it is 36mm. X serial

Have you looked at Tudors? you will be able to get something in that range

Tudor minisub, Heuer 1000, Omega seamaster.

Nailing down the year will be easier on the Tudor. A speedy isn;t in the cards unless its a non-professional.

I like the Speedmasters as well, they have my vote!

If you do go with it, try to do some homework, there are so many different models and nuances and you want to try to get the best bang for your buck. Good luck

Thanks for the comments guys! Yeah, Tudor subs in '91 are quite a bit out of the price range for this gift, but thinking a Speedy will definitely be the move :)

Now time to do homework on the millions of different models there are of them

I would look at Sinn, Damasko, Seiko, Junghans or Nomos, all top quality, the first two are built from the toughest materials and will not show a scratch, Seiko, well, they are just fabulous, for your price range you would be looking at a Prospex model, Junghans (especially the Max Bill models) and Nomos are so elegant. All these are pithing your price range and new so wouldn't tick the birth year box but still worth a look.
