Psychological Test
Read the question and come up with an answer. It is not a trick question.
A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number an could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister. Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

She murdered her sister because she thought her dream man may return to another funeral and it's the only way she can find him again.
This obviously means that I love the thought of being in love more than I love my siblings...I'm obviously a danger to society. J Oops too late |

Yeah, yeah - I was to slow, too. Still, I wouldn't kill my sister over some guy. Pffft.
Though, there was that moron woman who drove her children into the lake to get the attention of a store clerk she had a crush on.... ended up divorced, childless and in jail for the rest of her life... now there's a thinker. |

Despite falling madly in love, the women stayed by the grave to pray for her mother. As she walked back to the awaiting funeral vehicles she noticed the hearse windows were steamed up and it was rocking rhythmically. Curious she opened the back door and discovered her 450lb sister making love with the stranger. Straddling the poor man, her sibling lost control in that final moment of rapture and fell to embrace him. Her weight combined with his own exertions caused the poor chap to expire. Devastated, the women vowed to revenge the death of her lost love.
It's a slow day at the office.

The lady in this scenario wasn't simply a killer, she was a psychopath. This is but one item which appears as part of an inventory which measures degrees of psychopathy. This instrument was constructed by a psychologist who, working exclusively with psychopaths (also referred to as sociopaths, closely associated with antisocial personality disorder), quickly noted how aberrant psychopathic cognitions seemed. He concluded with this population, "it takes one to know one," since psychopaths seemed to perceive, interpret and react to situations very similarly, he "normed" this test using a sizeable psychopathic population. This inventory is used in conjunction with an indepth clinical assessment to diagnose Psychopathy/APD. Diagnostic criteria include: impulsivity, low frustration tolerance, lack of remorse, insensitivity to other's feelings, pathological lying, manipulation, lack of empathy, acting-out (criminally, sexually,) high need for control.
I first recall hearing about this scenario in my grad program in psych. My friend also heard about it in her psych program on the other side of the country. Since that time, I've seen it presented in various magazines. It's fun to try to figure out! |

The correct answer is, of course, she 'killed two birds with one stone'.
She obviously killed a sister that she didn't like and met her guy again.

No, there is much more here than urban myth. I have no objection to the use of the MMPI, but don't you think you should check out the inventory (a highly valid instrument) and rethink the diagnostic criteria before rejecting it outright? You've never used it and aren't familiar with it; why would you reject something before you've even learned about it? |

The key word IMO is 'scenario' and the evaluation of this imaginary perpertator's mental health is speculation.
but:- I sincerly apologise to Tafi for making light of her assessment. In my defense I saw this mistakenly as 'tongue in cheek'. I still think the killer solved two of her immediate problems.

Googled it.
My comps to Starke R. Hathaway, PhD, and J. C. McKinley, MD. Do we have the test sheet from this killer?

Thanks directioneng, you've redeemed yourself. To respond to your question, the MMPI stand for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. Psychologists use this instrument to test for every known type of psychopathology. The instrument consists of over 550 items which are divided into scales. For instance, there are scales to measure hypochondriasis, schizophrenia, depression, etc. There are also questions designed to detect when subjects lie. For example, a person will be asked about a particular behavior and later on, that question will reappear (reworded of course) to see if the response remains consistent or the individual lies. It's the gold standard of measuring psychopathology.
