Is the watch authentic?
Hi Amazing watch experts!
This is my first post here on this great forum so hopefully it's in the right place. I'm looking to buy my 1st Rolex these days and unfortunately the Rolex I'm interested in (Datejust 41/36, blue dial, Jubilee bracelet, fluted) is not available in any Rolex dealership here in Israel which is where I live. It's only available to order but can take 3-6 months which is not something I would like to wait unless nessecery. I have family currently in NYC Manahetten and also there - This watch cannot be found in the next months on any certified Rolex boutique. So currently I'm considering purchasing a new Rolex from a private seller (Second hand, but never been worn or used and bought in 2019). Since I have no real understanding of Rolex's since this is my 1st purchase, I don't really know how to 100% know if the watch is authentic (Other than watching tons of videos on youtube on identifying one). The seller has sent me all the things that are included with the watch and I wanted to ask you guy's if that can be a sign that the watch is real and authentic when he has all these documents (If these are the correct documents) Oh and 1 more thing - If the warranty is under his name, how does that process work if I need to use it? Your help is truly appreciated! Guy. |

Always buy the seller. If you're having to ask us about a watch's authenticity, then you are prepared to spend thousands of dollars with an individual you don't trust. Do you really want to do that?

Thanks so much for your comment. I truly agree with you, but I do think that to a person that does not really understand 100% watches, to say you need to trust the seller is a little problematic because as far as I'm concerned, the only seller I can 100% trust when it comes to authenticity when buying a Rolex, would be from Rolex themselves, but unfortunately as I wrote, that is not possible at the moment and that why I'm looking to hear feedback from you guys. Thanks |

The pics show a legit watch with all correct accessories. Please make sure, you do a personal trade, he could send you something completely different.

Also looks legit to me from the pictures he shared. I’m also curious about the warranty process if you are not the original purchaser?

Looks good to me. I just got my DJ41 from a trusted seller on Chrono24 and the warranty card is from the same AD retailer (Salon Jubilerski) as you show. Find out who the seller is and if it's a private seller or a B&M (jewelry shop) that would help.

Couple of notes that I forgot to add - I will be meeting with the seller in person, face to face - The seller is a private seller. I did some research and it seems that he buys Rolex's from abroad and brings them to Israel and sells them because he sold in the past 8-10 watches. What your thoughts on that? He also sent a quick video of this if it helps: I would appreciate hearing your guy's opinion on this. |

Personally, I can't see the watch well enough to pass judgement.
The box and papers look good though.

Be very careful. Meet at a Rolex AD or other established jeweler who can remove the caseback and confirm authenticity.

If the watch does prove real, don't let it out of your sight until you pay for it, so there is no opportunity to switch.

Good enough your meeting FTF. It should be in a Rolex AD for authentication

Just curious but do Datejust warranty cards not include the little description below the serial and model number? Isn't there usually a blurb about the dial or bezel? Not trying to derail the thread but that was the only thing I happened to notice. The watch and all other accessories look legit to me.

Real watch & accessories. And I've shopped at a W Kruk before in Warsaw.
If you're meeting him face to face compare serial on the card with the watch. You should be good to go. Warranty card with his name "yofit" doesn't matter. As long as it is in your possession you can get the watch serviced within the 5 year period of stamp. And finding a Rolex AD who will just open your caseback for free to verify authenticity is a bit easier said than done "Hi SA, we're here to buy a watch hand to hand purchase; would you mind asking one of your busy technicians to open the caseback for me to verify authenticity?". Also you need to find the AD with certified technicians that are Rolex trained. Most ADs don't have such staff available. |

Fella: just buy from one of the indisputably trustee sellers. Many here who’ll ship to Israel.
