Hi Beat real world service interval
I'm interested in buying a hi beat Grand Seiko. What I'd like to know is how often do the members here that actually own these watches have them serviced. How long can these watches run accurately without servicing? Can the service intervals be stretched to five or more years without degradation of performance?
I know Grand Seiko recommends service every three years. I have no problem with the cost of servicing a Grand Seiko. Having said that, I don't like the idea of packing the watch up every three years and sending it off to the the US service center in New Jersey. In my view every time a watch is sent off for service there is unfortunately a good chance it will come back scratched or damaged in some other way. That's why I'd like to put it off as long as possible. Thanks, Randy |
