Finally I feel really happy...

After buying a couple DJ41's and a 36 for the wife I was called a couple days ago about a SubC that I have always wanted. I picked it up last night and without a doubt I see what the fuss is about.

I feel a lot of people are drawn to how dive watches look and I am included in this. I feel more content now and am probably going to sell my DJ41 with blue face/fluted.

Where is the best avenue to sell something like this? Craigslist? Facebook? Chrono 24 seems a bit beyond what I want to do.

This is my first post and thrilled with my new watch.

Why sell the DJ? The sub and DJ combo is probably the best combo.

Agree, I think it is a great complement to each other.

Hold on to the DJ for six months. If you never wear it again then consider selling it. Like Pete said it’s the perfect combination.

It really is. I am not sure financially I want to keep both. But you are right in your thinking... I sort of thought I could sell the blue DJ while they seem to be hard to find.

Personally you take a hit selling to DavidSW, but 0 risk. Your watch will sell for 8-9500 (taking a guess) based on condition. If you trade it, you’ll get 7-8200 (again guessing). For some reason I’d rather get cash on the spot with 0 risk (taking the 15% hit) rather than taking a chance on losing 100%.

Most would find that crazy buttt that’s just me.

If you can keep the DJ41 do it. You'll regret selling it. Like mentioned above give it 6 months or so and if you still you want to sell it, sell..

Trusted seller. You won’t get quite as much as you would perhaps in a private sale - but WAAAAAAYY safer transactionally.

I agree with holding onto for a short period before selling.

Congrats BTW!!!

Seems like you all feel I should hold it for a little longer. It really is a nice watch but the SubC is just more ME.

I looked at his site. Might be a good avenue for me if and when I am ready to. 0 risk is a good idea.

I think most of us have learned over the years!!! but hey if you’re ready to part with it, go for it! Just be CAREFUL if you sell privately.

Congratulations on your Submariner. The DJ41 makes a nice compliment to the Sub, so you might want to give that a bit of time to settle before selling. Good luck and enjoy. Cheers!

No harm in hanging onto the DJ for a bit. That combo you have is a really good looking watch and as others have observed, a nice compliment to the sub. Mostly a matter of finding out if you are a one watch person. I am personally but plenty of people here enjoy some variety.

They're both great watches. My Sub is my go to piece and the DJ41 when I want something a little flashier. I think you may regret parting with it.

That’s how I feel also. The DJ41 is very flash and nice. But man, I’ve got a bunch of Seiko divers and some other stuff and finally I got my Sub.

I’ll hang on for a bit unless I get a good offer and can move on from it.

I would sell it to a trusted seller like DavidSW, that’s your safest bet...if you want to get every last dollar out of it, try the for sale section on here but there is obviously more risk.

I don’t really have an appetite for gold pieces. I could wear white gold but for the cost and how similar it looks to steel I’d stay with steal.

I do plan to buy my wife a know everose piece one day. She likes the two tones... I’d love for her to get a sub or Daytona one day.

He’s talking about the private messages.

You know, from the people wanting to buy your DJ41.

Congrats on your new watch. I’d recommend seeing if your AD has a “trade in” program or buys pre-owned. I don’t think the blue DJ41 are really too hard to get a hold of today even if not on display at most ADs. Or sell to one of the forums trusted resellers. There’s also the for sale section here on TRF. If you don’t want to deal with too complicated work I’d avoid a private sale regardless of the site. That said personally I’d never buy from any of the sites you mentioned especially from someone with no selling history. For that reason AD or reseller imo. As others have said try to enjoy both if at all possible though imo.

Congratulations for purchasing your Rolex Submariner

The DJ you can definitely sell on and let someone else enjoy it
You are not collecting and a modern Datejust is not collectible

Where to sell ...is right here at TRF, ...me and many others like me are interested

No need to pay eBay fees and have the fear of someone telling you
not as described ...and sends back a fake watch...or says watch not in package
On both these scamming “modus operandi” they will get their money back from you
About Graig’s list ? Mostly good people buy there.. but many unsavory characters as well.

I didn’t think about listing on this site actually. I could do that. I’ve sold watches on Craigslist before. Even a Rolex and it’s a constant screw around and drives me nuts.

After talking to my partner I’m going to sell my blue DJ. I need the cash of other things and I can always buy this again in the future.

What would something like this be worth in US dollars? Is that question allowed on here?

Ahh gotcha. I’ve used Craigslist before and it’s nothing but low balls and flakes. I’d consider selling on here but I have to read up on how to shop etc.

I talked to my partner tonight and we decided it’s best to sell the blue DJ. Cash can be used for other things right now.

Cheers!
