AP House NYC

I remember a couple years ago AP opening an AP House in NYC on 57th street. Is it still open and has anyone checked it out recently?

I’m not sure if it ever open...can’t find anything about it online last time I checked.

I did get a chance to visit Madrid’s AP House this past holiday...AMAZING. If you ever get a chance to visit it’s definitely a must see.

It had a soft opening and then they decided against it for the time being, there's a new AP House being planned in NYC but it'll be a few months before there's news released on it.

I’ve been hoping that it would get back on their radar screen. Such a great experience.

I just tried to stop by the AP house in London as am visiting. Nope won’t even be let in as “appointment only”. Such a disappointment as these companies really keep letting down their customer base. Cant even get in the darn place!!

Not sure what you mean by AP house but I have been to the private VIP customer lounge in NY a while ago before it was open to the public, not sure if its open now. It had some nice pieces displayed, a whiskey bar, and excellent views of Manhattan.

One and the same, it’s no more. They’re working on something new now.

Seeing as he went far enough to put a graphic of an ap openwork on the tail of his airplane I think you can take his word for it

Yup, positive. Even though it was super cool it was their contention that it didn’t truly convey the lounge feel that they were going for.

What is this like a membership club? Do you have to wear your AP to get in? Sounds weird AF

It sounds weird that a company has an owner’s lounge?

Is it somewhere you go after you just bought a piece? That would be reasonable to me.

If it’s just like a bar where owners migrate to? That’s strange to me.
To each their own I guess.

There are a couple of threads on here about the 'AP House' concept, a quick search will throw them up.

The AP House concept has my vote, I like it and see it as being true value add to owners and can only get better and more prolific over time.

It serves a number of purposes. Generally the main two are: a place where VVIPs can go to be shown a number of high value pieces in private to make the purchasing experience more exclusive, and the second is a place where social gatherings can take place for owners.

In general though, due to their locations being in places where many travel for business it also serves as a place where owners can hang out and just relax to feel comfortable.

There you go, that's the perfect brief summary.

Ah Ok I didn’t realize there were pieces available to view. Thought it was like an AMEX airport lounge. Lol.

Ya I felt like I was insulting them trying to get in with my Speedy on in London AP House! Didn’t bring my AP on the trip but I was genuinely interested in just checking out the place. Prime real estate in London to have a “store” that really isn’t a store.. but I guess they can afford it!

Indeed, a 'store' that isn't a 'store', sort of sums it up. They tend to work on an appointment basis so that their clients have some privacy and one on one service. That said though if you want to meet up with a few buddies and arrange it ahead of time they'll more than welcome you and throw the whole place at your disposal.

Once the concept takes hold and AP somewhat tell us all what the 'rules' are then it'll be really cool and that way no-one will feel offended when they are turned away on a 'drop-in' basis.

If in doubt call ahead, else risk a drop-in, but don't be offended if they can't accommodate you as they may be dealing with other clients.

I'm sure other AP House's are similar, but AP London has one large area that can accommodate parties and luncheons etc, but it isn't private if there are two sets of clients in. However, they do have another area 'the library' that is annexed to the large area that they can close the doors and make that private, so in reality AP London could entertain maybe three clients at most in somewhat privacy at a time. Hence their policy of calling ahead and making sure they can entertain you.

I've been to the Madrid AP HOUSE and it's pretty much that, a Lounge for VIPs and a pretty much a place to talk AP...

I get it and understand what they are trying to do. I am a watch enthusiast at heart. Sometimes I just wish things weren’t what they are today.

Here you go folks, I didn't want to post before since it wasn't open to the public yet at the time about a year ago. Again, I am surprised it's being redone as it it looked ready to go and was very nice. There's another pic where you can see the whole thing with the pool table but there's some folks in the pic.

I managed to attend the AP house NY. It’s probably worth mentioning it was also their Corporate office as well. Anyway the whisky was really nice and the dining table doubles as a pool table.
