Sea dweller yellow and steel 2020 model
Hi all, this is my first post! I'm thinking of buying the sea dweller with yellow and steel.
Interested to hear about people's views on whether this is a wise purchase in terms of rarity and potential value? Thanks! |

The two tone SD is gorgeous! I have a modest 3 rolex watches collection and this one gets the most wrist time. Like its brethren The Deep Sea, it is a real mans watch plus the little bit of bling, but not too much, the black ceramics bezel with surrounding yellow gold combinations is eye catching! Go and see one in the flesh if you could and you will be surprised how great it looks. It is however not a rare piece!

Welcome! as far as rarity the TT Sea Dweller is pretty easy to come by but that doesn't make it any less of a watch compared to the other Rolexes. Don't buy on value alone just make sure you like the watch. Rolex just as a brand alone typically holds value better than most other brands so you are already winning.
It's a handsome watch but you should definitely see it in person and get it on the wrist to see how you like it. |

It's not a wise purchase if you consider only "rarity and potential value." Does the watch make you happy? Will you enjoy wearing it? You should measure those values.

Seriously, I think it’s one of the best looking Rolexes ever conceived. Over time, that may cause an unexpected rise in popularity and value. However, you can’t go wrong with Rolex and I’ll bet you this ones value will most certainly sneak upwards...good luck with your choice!

Rarity and potential value are nebulous terms, buy it if you like it as a luxury time piece that will retain value well.

I love the SD43 in SS, and would love the TT too. Both are perfect!

I tried this one on at my local AD today and really liked it! I don’t think it is super rare as there was one of these, a two tone Skydweller, all rose gold GMT, but no all SS of the same models. No SS Seadwellers, no SS Skydwellers, and no SS subs. Pretty much what I expected. If I had the coin to buy the two tone Seadweller today, I would have.

Its one of my favorite pieces and newly acquired a few weeks ago. Love the size and wear’s very comfortable.
Like all Rolex sports models, it will retain its value well. Rare is subjective but you will not see many in the wild. If it makes you happy, buy it.

Wonder if you could knock that cyclops off? I'd be interested if so.

Its a big amd bold watch for sure. I find it is more balanced than the SS version.
However, I won't comment on the future value of it, as I've long been a believer you buy it because you like it. Here's mine when I picked it up last june with my CHNR as a reference to size.

On other posts where folks have removed the cyclops, most have said it would be better to get a replacement crystal that didn’t have one but since both the SD43 models have one, don’t know if it’s available? Personally, I like them so no issue for me.

Beautiful watch. Definitely bold as others have said. Keep in mind that TT is softer on the secondary market than steel

Buy it only if you like it. Every AD holds it in the back and tries to sell it off like they are doing you a favor.

Buy it if you like it, not for it's potential worth.

Just to be brutally honest, I think the steel version is better looking.
Also, if you're factoring in rarity and potential value, you're barking up the wrong tree. The question is, do you like it. If so, the rest is just white noise. |
