White gold DD40, but which dial....
First post (long time lurker) with a Day-date sized hole in my collection that will be filled on Saturday by hook or by crook and I could use some opinions.
It will definitely be a White gold dd40 (228239) and I must have the deconstructed Romans. Want some colour and the finalist are Blue dial vs Olive Green dial. It has taken months to narrow to these two. I know, I know.... I should buy the one that sings to me the most rather than be swayed by random connoisseurs. I love them both though; equally. It is going to be a coin toss at this rate. So any help to push me one way or t’other would be appreciated. It is your collective fault that I face this predicament after all |

So you are going to value the opinion of a bunch of old, overweight, bald watch nerds to help you pick your favorite color?!
Ok, i'd go green. |

I would definitely go with the olive dial. I feel with the blue it is too similar looking to the Datejust

In WG it would be the blue dial for me.
In RG, olive dial.

Both blue and olive dials are beautiful, but if I could only pick one then it would be the olive one.

Both are awesome. I had the olive and now have blue. I was making room for some other stuff so don’t really have anything bad to say about olive. What I can say is the blue is electrifying ! Youve picked 2 winners.

Blue for sure. Green nice but blue for the win but I’m bias.

Hey, watch it bud. I am not bald. (Yet.) As for OP, go for the green. You can't go wrong with that beauty of a dial.

Love the olive dial - but prefer it on the RG reference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’ve tried on both. Prefer the green, blue just a little too dark. Better legibility with the green. This is also similar to debating J Lo vs Shakira.

Olive by a country mile. It's gorgeous and the blue dial WG DD is too similar to a blue dial DJ. The olive dial is SPECIAL.
And I would not call 5 weeks a long time lurker. |

Blue dial would be my choice (its on my list) but you can't go wrong with the Green either. Try both on and pick the one that sings to you
Good Luck |

I saw blue one in the flesh. It was real stylish and stunning. I would go with blue out of the two. I think Olive green looks better in RG which was my choice.

Get the dial color that electrifies you, giving you energy throughout the day. For me, green does not. It’s just not my color for some reason. I have not seen it in the metal though.

The green on the DD40 is "puke" green by the way. Not a good green. Looks like someone swallowed a bunch of olives and yacked them up. Or maybe infected snot. Go blue or white. |

My .02. If the choice is only Roman dial on 228239, my list: Silver Quadrant, Blue, White, Olive. And maybe white ahead of blue, can't decide.
