Incoming - 116900 Air-King
Always a watch that’s been on my list but others took priority over this but glad to have finally got it and it’s such a refreshing (and dare I say, “simple”) thing that I love it!
Also finally got round to collecting my held warranty cards...didn’t realise I had such an obsession but then that’s why I’ve joined you fellow forum people! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They started I think after Basel 2018 and would keep them for 12 months until something had happened just before Christmas and no longer hold them. I didn’t rush to collect mine...if anything, found it safer being with them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes they probably are safer with them. You’ve been getting a lot of love from your ad what other purchases have you made there’s of cards there! I’m expecting a call in the next few weeks to grab the air king. I’ve always liked it that green and the gold crown really make it stand out as a Rolex in my opinion. Prices of the 116900 AKII are on the rise for some time already......a couple of months ago 5-10% below MSRP..........and now MSRP to plus 10% on MSRP.....plus the approx. 5% price increase that will be applicable from Jan. 1st. It has moved as a wallflower to the dance floor....... More and more people that have seen it before start to consider it as a "one of a kind" Rolex model; not comparable with any other toolmodel.....it certainly is.... ......"there is just something about it, it’s like this totally one off Rolex"...... It is the only Rolex tool watch with one/double digit figures on the dial.....the 3, 6 and 9 are white gold. As a true flight/instrument watch it shares the anti magnetic features (and the case) of the Milgauss without its $ 1,5k higher price. The AK history starts in 1945 as a honor of Rolex to the English RAF pilots fighting in WW II. This AK II is sold up till now in limited quantities and probably will not been produced for a long time any more imo......it is also possible that during Basel 2020 model changes are presented or even an production stop .... It is the only Rolex with the Rolex crown in yellow and the Rolex name and sec. pointer in green....both synonymous for the 2 Rolex trademark colours and up till now it is produced in very low/minor numbers!!! Altogether ingredients for a valued future classic .........? |

Yes, the Green and Yellow are very nice and are prominent features of the watch. Picked various models, think I’ve done incomings on most of them but one of the purchases was a Rainbow Daytona...but the wife’s claimed that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Picked my 116900 Air King two days ago. I find it this reference great. The AD disclosed that it has been allocation piece and recently they've seen very low numbers of it. If discontinued this year it value will increase. That matters not as I am enjoying mine on my wrist.
