Incoming While Outgoing... : )

Going across Asia for 2 months to escape the Cold Canadian Winter.
As most of us addicts on here Have gotten used to, I stop at every possible Rolex AD wherever I travel to. Been to Thailand...Cambodia and Vietnam. I actually have come to expect the usual “oh Sorry, no steel model. 3-4yr waitlist or no list at all”.

Anyways, I land in Singapore last Monday and after a fun time checking out a wonderful city, I proceed to Changi International airport to fly out to Bali. I had an hour to check in and board but the addict in me couldn’t resist rushing to the Rolex store in Terminal 4. I had zero exceptions and was expecting the usual talk of no steel model.

I get there and meet a male and 2 female reps. Within 30secs of looking through their display, I lament outloud on how datejusts have become all I see, and getting a brother for my Bluesy has literally become next to impossible.

The male rep asked which model I have been looking for. I say a Green submariner. He says to give him a sec. he goes across the room to ask permission from his manager and comes back and I can still hear the words he said echo in my ears whenever I close my eyes “it’s your lucky day” lol.
He goes behind the counter and opens a safe and pulls out a stunning HULK.

With my MasterCard Lost in Vietnam and not anticipating actually finding any watch I can buy, I didn’t have all my funds together. But I was relentless and just couldn’t leave the store without the watch. I call back Canada. Do several transfers from one account to the other. Call
My 3 diff banks to release a hold as the cards were stopped for such huge impromptu purchase.

I literally had 10mins to board and gate close. But I was relentless.

Needless to say, we were the last passengers to board and actually almost missed the flight. But am happy to say we made it safely onto the plane after delaying the plane for a few minutes. By we, I of course mean me and the Green Monster.

Through the The two hour flight to Bali no one could understand why I had a smile so big like I won the lottery.

Bluesy finally has another brother.

Wow congrats! Nice to hear someone actually stumbling across a steel model. I wonder if that's an indication the shortage may be coming to an end

This does happen. I bumbled into a long discontinued new in box Omega Aqua Terra at a small AD. I previously sold a similar model, which I later regretted. The thrill of the hunt is part of the fun! Good work!

Awesome story ... congrats.
I can't believe the AD didn't make you bundle with something.

I have been offered bundles, but never stand alone SS piece.

Wow! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing. It’s pretty amazing that you were bale to walk in as an unknown customer and obtain this piece. Maybe a sign of a softening market in Asia?

Regardless, enjoy it and thanks for sharing!

Awesome story. Thanks for sharing.. Gives hope to many of us that basically get laughed at when we ask an AD for any professional model. Congrats!

Is this what’s referred as a “Hulk” or a “Kermit”?

I think I prefer the numbers assigned, over the nicknames...
