As mentioned in a previous post, I had just purchased a GMT IIC yesterday, and my AD did inform me that Rolex was going to increase the prices by 10% April 1st. Now, I can't be too sure that this is true, or whether this is just a tactic by the AD's to get you to purchase the watch *now*. However, it makes sense. The Canadian dollar has been suffering a bit, and Rolex wants to keep the prices roughly the same worldwide.

I guess we will only really find out next week for sure.

Good luck with your decision...I'm loving the GMT IIC right now...it's just one day *young*!

The fact that Rolex hasn't increased prices in Canada since May 2006 which now makes Canada the cheapest country to buy a Rolex right now would make it a safe bet that prices are going up April 1st.

I ran into my AD while going for a coffee at the local Tim Horton and she told me she could get me a SDDS sometime in the next couple of months at a 10% discount. I showed her that I already had the SDDS on my wrist. I then asked her, "I heard that prices are going up April 1st". She nodded and said yes they were. I asked her what the increase would be. She said 10%. Which means April 1st the best deal I could get from her was paying March 31 MSRP!

I managed a little discount on my SDDS when I bought it, so in the end, I was better off buying now than later from her.

It is 100% confirmed to be a 10% price increase on April 1st, all across Canada, effecting all models immediately.

As reported by me on Feb. 15th
http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=67728

Some AD are conveniently "closing" to "take inventory" in the days before April 1st.

its true that the prices are going up. I talked to 3 AD's inquiring about a watch. and they all said to me its better to by now, since its going up to around 10% increase on April 1st.
