Upgrade my Radiomir Black Seal to a Radiomir 424?
I wear a Radiomir Black Seal 754 now (45mm case). I dig it a bunch, and I think I want to stay with a Radiomir and upgrade to the 47mm 424, but I would buy one without seeing or trying it on first.
I'll be grateful to hear how the 47mm wire-lug 424 feels on the wrist as compared to the 45mm wire-lug Radiomir. Big difference? Small difference? For reference, here's a photo of the 47mm 424 that I swiped from the internet, followed by my own photos of my 45mm Black Seal on my wrist. Thanks in advance! |

It’ll be wider, yes, but thicker, too. Enough so that it’s definitely worth trying on before flipping.
Consider also a 232 or 249, both of which are classic 47 Rads that are notably thinner. |

I have owned a number of Radiomirs over the last 15 years. I currently have a 292 which is a ceramic and a 424 that you are considering. They do wear different. The biggest difference mentioned above is that the 424 is much thicker. I think we need to try watches on before the purchase.
You can see the 424 is larger, but for me it still is great on the wrist. I also have a 372 which since it is a Luminor wears much larger than the 424, so I am used to a larger watch. I guess the larger watch is not a big deal as I have a number of watches that range in size so none are worn for more that a day or so. |

I love the California dial and logo, but I was surprised to find the watch is so thick. It felt like a brick in comparison to my 232.
Sorry it is not a direct comparison as you ask, but it sits higher on the wrist than other 47mm Rads. FWIW |

Guys, thanks for taking time to share your experiences and advice. I did get the sense from photos that the thickness would be the real difference, and it seems this is confirmed in your responses.
