Its a watch I bought from Raymond Lee Jewellers. Bought it as a 16520... Had it shipped to
A US Address. They gave me the serial
number and showed it to me via email. x serial.

When i got it back from the states on a trip a year later. The serial number was x but model number 16523. Ugh!

The receipt they gave me just said rolex daytona. I never contacted then since an oversight like that and a receipt with no info... Well. Live and Learn.

I hope the dial is real. Would add value to this franken watch

Thanks for the input!

Just trying to make sure the serif and font on the lettering are correct etc

You never know what can be faked these days.

Ok so it’s a two tones converted to SS.
Careful not to have purchased a Frankenwatch.

Nice dial but a converted 2 tone, which is probably against the law to sell as 16520

Can’t tell from the pictures but wouldn’t a black dial 16523 have gold lettering? Also you’d be able to tell right away as I believe the subdials and indices would have YG surrounds?

It’s a SS dial in a 2 tone case...it’s not original to the watch but genuine SS dial

Ok that makes way more sense then. Someone had a TT case then swapped the bezel, dial, hands and bracelet just to pawn it off. Insane the lengths some shadeball dealers will go through...

My guess is that the dealer obv. knew which is why they listed it as a "daytona" without any specifics.

Has the OP tried to contact them? any response?

Also curious now, is the bracelet a correct 78360 with 503 endlinks?

As above, curious what the seller has to say about all this. Any response?

And to clarify, you have email traffic and/or perhaps the original sales listing showing that the watch was being marketed as a 16520?

A big problem here, if I'm reading correctly, is that you waited a year to actually get and examine the watch. Is that right?

Hmmm

I might be inclined to obtain a 16523 dial of your choice and gold bezel and return it to factory spec.

Sell your black dial and bezel which will fetch good money.

As currently it falls between 2 stools and not easy to explain or move on.....

Or just enjoy it.

Did you pay using credit card? If so, might be worth calling the bank to see if they can help.

Hi, returning it to original spec might be more costly than prob the trouble. The OP will need 2 gold pushers, 1 gold crown, the dial & bezel (as you stated] plus the 2-tone bracelet. OP will also need RSC (once they open) to tell him what specific dial was sold with it.

I say enjoy the watch or just sell it once the economy is more stable.

subrollie: Your inbox is full. I would buy this watch and return it to 16523. If you want to sell it please PM me. Alternatively, if you wanted to return it to 16523 and keep it, I could help you source all of the parts you need..

Im more focused on whats going on now with this pandemic.
