New Member - Rolex 1680 Red Help
Hi all, new to posting on the forum but have been reading posts for a long time. Looking for help please. I am looking at this sub. I know the bracelet is service but welcome thoughts on the Insert (could be service) and dial (believe totally original). Also if you think something is not originally very keen to understand how you know as I try to increase my understanding.
Any thoughts welcome and stay safe everyone. |

As mentioned, thin font service insert. In one image the lower crown guard looks to be polished down to a toothpick. Maybe it’s just the angle of the photo?

David,
After you get your comments here from the experienced ones, I suggest you take the watch to an experienced vintage watchmaker to check the movement for authenticity and movement condition. You never know nowadays. London has some good watchmakers Im sure. Maybe you should discuss this with the seller too to have piece of mind and a clean honest transaction. A picture of the movement posted here is also a good idea. If your watchmaker is honest and suggests a service, pls do it. You will get piece of mind for the next 5-10 yrs. All the best. |

Thanks for the advice I will certainly do that. For a 1969 model would you expect to see a Mk2 (long 5) or Mk3 Insert, it seems like it could be either?

Two different answers, guess that means there is no concrete answer to the question. Adding a few more photos as asked for. To me the dial and hands all look in very good condition.

It looks lovely to me. But I’m admittedly not great at spotting problematic dials! |

That sounds correct ! .
I have a very similar Red Sub slightly earlier and was offered 40k for it around 18 months ago . |

Hi David are you aware off DRSD.COM .?
Mine is very very similar to yours with double punched papers . Fat font insert with correct 9315 bracelet original box and original sales receipt . I paid $22500 or £13,860. For mine in the Autumn of 2014 May I ask who is selling it ? |
