Google "red dial Seiko 7S26" and "red bezel Seiko 7S26" you'll find them to mod the SKX. I found these in a couple seconds. The lighting may have a lot to do with that "watermelon-like" coloring you're looking for so factor that. Also, the choices for the hands are endless and easy to source if you don't want to use the stock ones. Good luck!

thanks - i had googled for red dials seiko but never used the "7S26"

it did pull up some results i hadn't found - unfortunately the one that looks the closest, is Barcelona watch supply and they're not open yet - aaarrrrggggg

found the very combo, or it sure looks like it, on ebay by adding that 7S26 to the search - many many thanks
