In-house movement for Royal Oak Chronograph
Hi all. I have heard so much about the calibre 3120 movement in the ROC, although not made (rather modified) in-house, but known for being one of the best chronograph movements in existence. Audemars now has the in-house movement for the Code 11.59 (calibre 4302) which I think may be too large for the 26315/38mm ROC, but may fit in the 26331/41mm ROC. At the same time many have commented on a planned in-house movement specifically made for the ROC line-up. Does anyone have any clarity on this or is it all rumors at this point? Thanks!

While I'm sure we will see in in-house movement in the ROC in the future, it would appear that using the current movement would make the ROC rather thick. Also they seem to be prioritizing the movements for Code and now the. Re-Master collection. Unless someone has more reliable intelligence I'd say we're 2 years away from a ROC refresh with in-house movement (and certainly a price increase). I would also bet the initial release is precious metal only. |
