Coming off RO Deal Heat & Tempted to Splurge on Revamp Collection
Somedays it sure feels like as a new-ish client for AP, no watches will be coming my way and I feel my urge ebbing as the wait goes on.
I find myself suddenly hearing the siren's call to just break up my watch fund holding for another RO-XXX for a combination of Speedy Pro, Panerai, Sub No Date. So many fun, or at least intellectually interesting pairing ideas in the place of a basic RO. Anyone else tempted to do the same thing for a collection re-configuration to downgrade and diversify over multiple pieces rather than the usual consolidate to a single piece or am I just going mad while waiting? |

Glad I saw your post.. I have a 15500 blue and a ROO ghost and have been looking to take the ghost and turn it into 2 SS Rolex’s, but I can’t seem to find the right pair.

I wouldn't yield to this temporary madness that has seemingly gripped the world just now, and make a major change to your plans, but I am revisiting alot of the watches and brands I liked a few years ago before I got heavily into AP and PP, for example I used to have a Cartier Santos and have just started looking at the updated version they released a couple of years ago which looks nicer than the one I had.

Probably sage words! Admittedly I am having lots of fun toying around with the combinations. Everything from: PAM + Speedy + Sub (no date or LV) to CHNR + DJ I was amazed by how nice the relative value of PAM's have gotten compared to when I bought my first PAM 5 years ago, or I've just gotten numb to the craziness of considering 20k for a steel date only watch 'normal'. Speedy is coming back into the collection either way since I think they're about to discontinue the movement if I follow the conversation in the Omega sub-forum correctly. |
