AP 25860ST serviced at AP Clearwater?

I recently purchased a E series, 25860 and it needs a movement service. Additionally, I want to get the Extract.



So, after reading several positive posts and speaking to the service agent in Clearwater, I sent them the watch.



I did let them know on the phone and filled out and included in their paperwork that I only wanted the movement serviced, no replacement parts other than wore internal components (no replacement parts such as hands, dial, pushers, etc)...and not to polish it.



The watch is in route to them and before I have them commence, I wanted to make sure there were no red flags and that this was the right place to work on it without fear.



I have mostly owned and collected Rolex (vintage and new). For Rolex, I would never send Rolex Service Center a watch that was more then ten years old. For anything older, I use several highly regarded indies who I can trust to preserve originality.



Is AP Clearwater the right choice?

Yeah, of course it's the right choice, they're great to work with, you'll be fine.

I got a little nervous after reading a post on this board yesterday about a date wheel on a 15300 being swapped out without the owner agreeing to the change.

This may have been unique situation, but it gave me pause.

You have to understand that when AP remove parts like hands or datewheel during service, they will substitute them with new ones. No chance they put back the old ones.

My understanding (which may be incorrect and the reason for my post) is that I can request a movement service only and they will take that direction.

If they believe non movement parts such as pushers, hands, crown, dial, etc need replacing then I will be notified first and given my options.

If they simply replace everything once I send it in without some say in the process, then I will pull the watch before they begin and look for an indie.
