JLC Geophysic True Second-Out of Production?

Can anyone confirm this? If true does anyone know any AD's with them in stock?

Sorry not sure, but I’ve seen a number of them on grey sites. The dead beat seconds complication is very cool. I personally can’t get over it looking like a quartz movement though.

I prefer to think of quartz mimicking the deadbeat movement which has been around way longer than quartz technology.

It’s a great watch, I participated in a watchmaking class at the JLC boutique a while ago where we took apart and reassembled the movement from that watch. I heard the same thing, that it was/or would be discontinued, certainly worth picking up. I really like the world time variant.

The entire Geophysic line seems to have disappeared from their website a few days ago.

Wondering if it's all really killed? Or just a mistake?

Shame if it is gone forever. The new JLC releases have all been fantastic so hopefully a new version will be released soon.

It is a very cool watch in concept.

I looked at buying it twice. Each time the one I saw had an issue with the second hand stopping on the markers. In each case the dials were half on and half off and drove me nuts.

I am not sure they could make it work.

I spoke with JLC CS today and they confirmed the Geophysic TS line has been discontinued with no replacement currently planned.

I've seen three True Seconds (2 silver dial and a Geographic) at various AD's. All 3 hit the markers perfectly. The direction of light source or angle of view can make them 'appear' misaligned due to the reflections of the hands on the silver dials.

That is fair. Quartz has been around longer than me though so I guess it’s all about perspective The geophysic is a gorgeous piece.

If I had seen one of them I might have bought the watch

The pieces I saw and shot video of were all very noticeable to me, the salesperson and the sales manager.

I saw 3 of these when they came out at different Boutiques/AD and the seconds hand did not perfectly align on any of them. It only occurred at a couple of markers and was consistent but different for each of the pieces I looked at. It was not due to the angle of light. Otherwise I would have purchased one.
