2020 Models with Updated Warranty Card

I know there are theory’s that the new warranty cards come with watches that are manufactured in 2020. Obviously just because a watch is purchased this year doesn’t mean it was produced this year.

I’m curious what models you all have seen or acquired that came with the newer card.

I purchase a Milgauss in March 2020 and received the “older” style warranty card. I have seen many watched in the FS section stating that they were purchased from ADs in 2020 as well with the “older” style card.

If it it true that the new cards come with watches that are produced in 2020, it may be a reasonable leading indicator of what models may get updates later this year.

Watches that ADs already have in stock will their cards changed out to the new style on a rolling basis before the end of the year.

AD will remove and destroy/send back old cards, and change to new ones.
Even a watch that’s been sat in their window for 2 years will go out with the new card once the AD does the change over.

This would be very risky on Rolex’s part to potential have two authentic cards in existence for a watch.

Not sure about that - on the 1st July bought a BLRO and a DJ - Pepsi was supplied with the ‘new’ style card, DJ came with the ‘old’ card.

According to the AD - July 1st was the date that the ‘new’ cards entered circulation - and mine was the first they had issued. Anyone get a ‘new’ card earlier?

yep I just bought a 41 DJ two days ago for a gift. They no longer indorse the names on warranty card, mainly to stop any confusion watch has the warranty not the buyer. New card kind of looks like it has the montblanc star around the rolex crown looks pretty cool!

Not really, Rolex is very serious with its ADs. It’s done change overs in the past on other items, such as the hang tags and the warranty cards were changed out before when they added the chip. It’s not their first rodeo.

So there is no model code or serial on the warranty card? So for every watch I’m stock they will send a new warranty card? I find this hard to believe. Keen to see pics.

Don’t have the cards to hand right now but the ‘new’ card has the model and serial number of the watch etched into the plastic card itself - the only bit the AD fills in is the date.

Old cards and new cards have serial numbers and model number printed on them.
Rolex will know what stock an AD has (as it knows when cards are swiped thus what’s still in stock).

Yes every model in stock gets a new warranty card - might be hard for you to believe but it’s fact.

Looking forward to see this. It's akin to them updating boxes and tags if that was the case.

So far it sounds like there has been at least 1 BLRO with the new card and multiple DJs. I’d be curious if any new Sub, Air King, Milgauss, Explorer, or Explorer II owners have received the newer cards.

Bought a sub end of may and came with the new warranty card. Ref number and serial number are on the card indeed.
Dont’t know if that matters but I bought it in France.

TT Sky Dweller purchased last week came with the new style card. It was in a consignment which my AD received in the week ending June 27th.

odd move, seems like it encourages the grey market more. i like having my name on the card, since that's gone im less likely to buy from an AD.

My thoughts exactly. I guess they’ve already showed their true colors on working with greys anyway.

I just picked up an Explorer 1 this week and it has the new warranty card. The AD said it was the first one they had sold with it.
