Incoming!

After all of the overthinking, changing mind and trying to figure it out, I can finally say I got my first steel sports Rolex.

216570 Explorer II with black dial.

My journey here was long and full of twists. I always thought I was a Sub guy since I wanted that as long as I can remember.

Truth be told, and this is how I ended up with ExpII.
I like Bond. I like his watch. I like that sub. Applied markers, vintage look. It's so utilitarian and classy at the same time.

But I had to be honest with myself. I really like modern Rolex features.
New bracelet? Perfect
Maxi dial? Perfect
Engraved rehaut? Cool if you ask me

When I combined all of that, my heart lead me to Explorer II. I got it via TRF and could not be happier, I can see myself wearing this for a long time.

I know no one cares for the story as much for the photos, I will upload as soon as I finish typing this on PC and edit from the phone!

And if you ask me what's next??
1803, not sure on the dial, leather band, maybe even a project watch...might post another WTB soon haha.

The Ex 2 with black dial takes the win, over the Polar. The Polar looks too big in 42mm, but wins in the 40mm line.

Congrats.

This. Black dials look smaller on the wrist (or white dials extenuate the size I'm not sure which) but you get my point. 42mm with black dial wears like a 40mm imo.

Post pic when you can.

I agree, managed to try white once and it looked huge. This one is perfect!

Ceramic sub..

New bracelet, check
Maxi dial, check
Engraved rehaut.. Whatever

Bond wore a sub not an Explorer last time I checked. Why didn't you go with the sub again?

As you could see, I wanted to say that vintage sub is what spoke to me in regard of submariner, and I wanted modern Rolex features for everyday wear, and Explorer was what I found that fits me most

I understand now. Bringing up Bond though, threw me for the loop in your decision making.
