Rust on rolex deepsea?
I bought this one new and never polished, drop or something, and still have all seals from factory, but when i saw with direct sunlight it has little rust/scar at the back case. Anyone has this experience? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That is a dent, maybe the store staff dropped it (this is very common...)

If this makes you feel better, I bought my Deepsea in Shreve Palo Alto, it was when it just first came out and hard to find, I happened to saw it but it had a light scratch on the left side of the case (these kind of scratches often comes from AD let people put watches on their wrist without having them taking off their watches), I still went for it thinking I will scratch it later anyways. I don't own it anymore though, because later it had a bigger accident. |

I made a stupid stupid decision of wrapping the deepsea in a towel to protect it when showering but when the time comes to use the towel I forgot the watch was in it....I pulled the towel and the deepsea flew out and hit the granite floor. Crown guard dented and the crown was also bent, I didn’t even bother to fix it, sold it as damaged goods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Safest place is on your wrist - I recall seeing a post where someone took their watch off to do some car work. Left it on the roof and then proceeded to drive off with it on the roof still. Best bet is almost always to keep on your wrist as things like that are so easily done.

Yeah I totally get that. Sad, really... You'd think salespeople are 'qualified' enough to handle watches without damaging them, but the reality is that even that simple task is too hard for them... And then watchmakers like us have to fix their mistakes...

The watch will have to have had a considerable knock on it to dent the case like that. Likely when not on wrist due to position. I'd say, and I am not a betting man, that its been dropped onto a hard surface.

Doesn't look like a dent to me, if anything it looks slightly raised? Certainly not rust though

The watch has suffered trauma on the case side/edge and this raised area is where the material has pushed out.

If that were mine, I'd assume it's hot sauce. Could it be a food stain? Have you tried washing it?
